Hsg

my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 4 years with no luck. we have been to several doctors who just wanted to pass me to another dr. and so on... I finally found this one Dr. he is a little out there with the way he wants you to eat and natural medications, but the results speak for themselves. I found out that I have PCOS. He told me what diet I should be on and also put me on a medication called Metformin it is to help with your insulin, and in three months the following has happened. I am having my periods, he put me on a natural med to make me ovulate and it works "and without all those nasty side effects that you get from clomid" I have lost 33 pounds I no longer have chronic heartburn, he sent me to get a HSG done and now we know that my right ovary was slightly blocked but it is not any longer.  I had the HSG done on the 11th of this month and we have been trying to conceive since then "the dr gave us a prescription to do so" I should start my period on the 9th of Dec. so I will wait a few days after that and test...I pray that this is the month but do not have my hopes up to high. Has anybody else conceived in the first few months after have an HSG?

Hiya, me and my husband have been trying for 4 years too. Was diagnosed with PCOS just over 2 years ago. Doctors who I was with at the time didn't do much to be honest. But I moved n got a new doctor who seemed much more interested to help. Had a miscarriage unfortunately early this year so got referred to hospital quicker and had a HSG on the 18th Oct and found my right tube blocked. Got told afterwards that there's a high rate of women falling pregnant after a HSG but like you, I didn't think it would happen. I found out nearly 2 weeks ago that I'm pregnant! So keep trying and hopefully it will happen to u aswell. Good luck with everything and enjoy trying! X

WOW! that is really great I am so happy for you. I am sorry about the miscarriage though, but so happy to hear when women have good luck..I will pray that this one is the success you have been looking for.

I just has the hsg and thy said no blockage . The doctor who did it also said from the day u have it dun up to 3 months it's supposed to help u become pregnant she said just flushing the tubes is all u need sumtimes :) so I'm crossing my fingers I just finished clomid and hsg done so praying for good news un few weeks

What med did he put you on to O??  Im looking for an alternate to clomid.

HSG didn't help me get pregnant, but we have male factor infertility so that's likely why.  Good luck.
