Hypothyroidism and Successful Pregnancy??

Back in November 2010, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism after a first trimester miscarriage.
I am now 11 weeks pregnant and have been having my levels monitored. Everything has been fine until routine blood work this past Friday which showed I needed to change my dosage. My RE asked me to double my meds and follow up in 4 weeks. It terrifies me because I know hypothyroidism can cause major issues with my unborn child.
My NT scan is next week and we had an ultrasound on Monday showing everything looking perfect.
Has anyone else gone through a successful pregnancy and managed their hypothyroidism??
Thank you in advance! :)

Just wanted to update in case anyone reads this later. Thyroid levels have been fine during the second trimester so far. Baby is doing great! :) I guess I was worried for nothing!

Thank you for your reply. That does make me feel better especially since the internet is filled with scary thyroid stories!
I guess my concern was, how long was my thyroid level not normal and will that time of the incorrect amount of meds negativelyaffect my baby.

Hi.  It is very normal to have to increase your thyroid hormone dose in early pregnancy.  The increase in your meds is very appropriate and sounds that you are being well monitored.  Your baby should be fine.

I have hypothyroid and am now pregnant with my second.  I increased my thyroid meds by about 50% in the first weeks of pregnancy.

Keep regularly monitoring (usually they monitor monthly during pregnancy), and adjusting your dose and all will be fine.
