I don't know what to think...Help!

I apologize because this may be a little long, but I'm looking for advice and would like to be accurate.  My LMP was Dec. 6th.  I have very regular 28 days cycles and average 3 days heavy bleeding and then 2 days spotting after.  I was on bc for 1 1/2 weeks at the beginning of that cycle and then stopped.  My hubby and I bd every day from Dec. 22-Jan.2.  The day before AF was due, Jan. 3, I started spotting.  It lasted about 2 days with very light watery pink, light brown, and light red blood.  I only used a panty liner each day and they had very little on them.  I have had nothing since then.  I got a BFN on Sunday January 6.  I have heard to test a week after a missed period.  I had a miscarriage last June at 6 wks.  I got a BFP at 5 days late with that pregnancy.  I had sore boobs for about 2 weeks.  Should I test again or just assume it was a light period?  Could it have been implantation bleeding?

The bcp would probably have had some effect on the cycle being taken that close - however, if you don't get AF, test again!  Stranger things have happened :)
