clomid can also be called "clomiphene citrate" or "serophene"

My insurance didn't cover them, and I used to pay $5 per 50mg pill.  You only take them 5 days out of the month, so if you start at 50mg (some docs Rx 25mg but most start at 50mg) it's not too bad.  By my fifth round I was taking 150mg which was 15 (50mg) pills, so it got kinda pricey.  My sister told me to check out the Target phamacy though - I never did but she says everything she gets there is cheaper.

Good luck!

I was taking metformin and it does regulate your period and can help you conceive. It really depends if you have any other problems to figure in.

I have pcos,  and fibroids  I just completed a cycle of IVF and I am 6 weeks preg with twins.

PS have you tried taking clomid?  you can order online for a little cheaper and there is a generic for it.

I started metformin august "06"  and found out that I was preg in Oct. "06" it ended in  a miscarriage...But it must have helped, cause I have been trying for like 5 years.. I have pcos too...I have even lost about 40lbs. and it had to have been the medicine!! Which is a good thing. It regulated my cycles....Before I was luck to have 4 cycles a year and now I have them anywhere from 28 to 34 days....so it is probably different with everyone, but it did help me..I haven't gotten preg since, but I don't think it has anything to do with the metformin, I don't think I have enough cm, and around where I live all there is are regular gyno's and my insurance doesn't cover infertility, so anything I do is outta pocket..but I hope I helped about the metformin...Good luck to you!!!
