I just found out that my eggs are bad quality.

The reason why I am still negative and my 1st IVF failed is the quality of eggs. I got 7 eggs, only 4 divided and the forth decided to stop at the day 3. So only 3 started to divide after the day 4. I am little down...because this news is not sitting with me to well, after all doctors can not improve quality of eggs. I am 31 so the doctor told me not to worry much because it doesn't rule out pregnancy. However, my progesterone is great, the lining is very thick and the doctors think that once I am pregnant I will have a healhy pregnancy... the problem is HOW CAN I GET PREGNANT WITH BAD QUALITY OF EGGS ;-( My doctor advised to wait at least 3 years, and then get a donor... Has anyone of you had the similar problem...I am starting my second cycle on 5/1 but is it even worth. I am going to start my accupunture tomorrow, and change my diet (add fish ;-)))

Hi...I too just found out that I have a bad quality of eggs. I was disappointed and I decided I will not spend any more thousands of dollars to try to figure out what my problem is. If it's not to be then it's not to be. This was my final attempt. I cried yesterday ( that's when I got the news) but I decided that was the end of it for me. I produced 8 eggs thru stimulation but they would not grow, they think due to numerous amounts of fibroids that I have. My sister wants to be a donor for me becaus eshe pops babies like pills (lol) but some how I think that would be a little bit strange. My sister's eggs with my dh sperm and carrying it inside of me.

I will see though in the next month or so what I will do but I'm believing that I'm done. Good luck to you on your next cycle...baby dust to you

Actually, if I were going to use a donor egg, that's how I'd want to do it.  Your sister shares some of the same DNA as you.  It's just my opinion, but I think it's the growing it inside of you part, and the carrying the baby part, and the labor part, that make it as if it were your own eggs.  I'd use artificial eggs if they could produce them!  But that's only my opinion, obviously you should only do what you are comfortable with.  But don't give up hope entirely.  A bad quality egg is better than no egg at all.  You might just catch a lucky break and produce ONE quality egg...that's all it takes!

Have you heard of DHEA? Some think that it helps with egg quality. It might be something to check out...and there really is nothing to lose at this point. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about it?

I take it at 50mgs a day. I have high fsh and the doctor thought it might be an egg issue that is preventing me from having success. (we have since learned that I have some clotting problems, but he said that it wouldn't hurt if I continued the dhea. even if it helps the slightest bit, it is worth it to me to try something)

I'm 37 so it's been about 10-15 years but i just decided to do IVF for the 1st time this year and as we got to the part about measuring the eggs after all of the injections. I was told to discontinue neds as of yesterday because the 8 follicles that I produced were not large enough to extract an egg from.

I thought that eggs coming from my sister would be great as well becaus eat least I would know thatthe bloodline is the same as mine, but it's just something about the thought of it. I think I'm talking out of frustration saying that i will just give up, my sister is really insistant that I take her eggs and do it. So I guess once my Re and I meet again we will talk about it. My DH and her DH are noth ok with it so I'm guessing it will be fine.

Eh... I don't know about the whole sister thing... Yeah, the DNA part is great... But, explaining to the child, and then if the child gets mad and says something mean, or wants to go live with his/her "real" mom... At least with a donor it is unknown... I don't know...

I would use your sister eggs, this is a pretty good deal. How long have you been trying. I want to wait little bit before I jump into the donor case, I don't have a sister, so I would have to use a donor outside.

For me, my doc said because i have insulin resistance (PCOS)....that is my blood sugar is  high, my eggs can be of bad quality....to solve that problem she said take metformin....as metformin does something with insulin/brain and which ultimatley results in good quality of eggs....
