I just want to know

Hi!  There!  I was 16 weeks pregnet that I did not know.  I had to get a d&c in Jan. of '07.  Im trying to get pregnet( April '09)  For a week I was having these pains, they were I had my surgery.  But now they are gone.  I took a hpt today May 5,2009(my lmp was April 5th) and it showed negitive.  Why is that?
