Hi I am starting my first cycle of IVF. Went straight to IVF becuase of my DH low SA count and motility and I have mild pcos. At my office for my age 31 they favorably want to transfer only 1 egg back and have a max of 2 eggs. I told her I wanted to transfer 2 eggs at least for better chances. She discoureges this and thinks 1 would be safer for a single birth. I am not worried about twins but I would be a little worried about triplets or more. For those of you that have been through this would you advice I transfer 1 or 2 eggs?????????????
. I agree with the fact that sometimes is o.k to be a bit conservative and try to keep multiple birth numbers low, it is quite risky to have triplet or quadruplets for both women and babies, but remember is always up to what you, your hubby and your RE recommends. Good luck to you.
I am 32 and for the first IVF I had 2 embies transferred and they did not take. For the second IVF we had 3 embies put back in and I am now 18 weeks and 4 days pg with a singleton boy. I think 2 is a safe
Thank you everyone.....I will most likely transfer two and hope that at least one sticks and no more than 2 results. But if more happen then we will happily take it on. I just hope this works....
I totally agree......I am going to transfer 2 eggs since my RE will not allow anymore than two unless I am over 35yrs old. I cry thinking about having this procedure done. I am so sick of being poked and probed and having things done to find out whats wrong with me. I have had 2 biopsy of my cervix and uterus and the HSG. I have had enough of things that hurt. I hate taking meds and now I am going to be on 9 meds. Birth control,Lupron,Gonal-F,Bravelle,Menapur,Medrol,Z-pac,Progesterone and vivelle patch,Metformin. I am tired of taking meds. This whole thing is just making me anxious and depressed. I don't even know who I am anymore.
Has anyone ever had a successful IVF after 1 try? I dont read that very often on these sites. I am 37 - female & male parts of us are fine, just had a tubal too early - nothing else.....so we r trying ivf, got 14 eggs today and my husband's sperm was better than the first time he was tested.... just wanted to know why I'm not reading anything about success on first ivf cycles.
