cyst on my right ovary for a few months. I didn't have severe pain but constant discomfort. They finally found it w/ an ultrasound when I decided to call the doctor. One night (and only once) the pain was extremely painful
. I did have pain on my side and lower back. (this was the day before the ultrasound) Anyway, the doctor wanted to do another US about 2 weeks later, and then if it was still there, surgery. Thank the good Lord it was completly gone!! If it doesn't go away or get worse, it can't hurt to contact your OBGYN.
I just posted a bunch of symptoms on KeyD's question on another post (too long to retype LOL)
But actually when a cyst leaks, this is not always good. In my case it was very very bad. Mine was an endo cyst, & it leaked during my period, & it causes lots of scar tissue, & inflamation (inflammation). @ one point my white blood count was over 17000, cuz it was so inflamed inside!
Go get checked out. I had to have mine surgically removed & I waited TOO long & they had to remove my left ovary & left tube also;(
I agree - internal pain is NEVER something to be messed around with. I don't want to scare you, but I want you to realize the importance. I have had 10? cyst ruptures in my life (I've lost count) and many more that didn't rupture. So rest assured that all but one were relatively harmless and you're probably fine....however, my first one when I was 16 years old ruptured and I was terrified. It happened immediately after having sex with my boyfriend and I didn't know what was going on. I hid my pain from my very catholic parents for 2 days. Finally I couldn't take the pain anymore so I told my mom. I was rushed from the ER into emergency surgery. I had a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst, meaning it kept bleeding. They sucked out over a pint and a half of loose blood from my pelvis, and they told my mom if I had waited another day to tell her, I could've bled to death internally.
Don't mess around with internal pain - EVER. Get it checked out pronto.
