My gyn has told me that the people from the IVF centre will not see me until I have been ttc for a year straight with proven ovulation every month. I was actually quite angry to hear this since we have been ttc for 3 years, but she told me that this didnt count since I dont ovulate on my own and they wont take this into account. (Annoying!!!) Anyway, I have been referred to an RE who works for the IVF centre, and my gyn told me that even though we cant actually go through with the IVF yet, she said he will be able to 'play around' with a few other meds and so forth. I am assuming she meant he will do more than just prescribe clomid (so maybe start with trigger shots, etc), but what I wanted to know was; can I do IUI? Or is IUI also seen like IVF and I will have to wait the year before I start that too?
I would stress that you are READY!! I do not think that there is any stipulation to that. Clomid is the cheapest route, and I would try that if you haven't already. I would also ask RE about testing you and DH to make sure there are not any other issues keeping you from conceiving. My dh and I tried clomid for 5 months, and I feel it was wasted because my dh had the problem, and clomid wouldn't have helped in a million years. I would think that if you are willing to get aggressive, your RE would comply. As for IUI vs IVF, I think that there may be certain steps to go through before you would get to that point, but you definitely shouldn't have to wait a year!!! Good luck!!
awwee man!!!! CHANGE OB's!!!! lol.....
I did! when i got blew off by my stupid OB,....i went directly to an RE! and guess what! i had a problem!.....so, now i am going back since after all is corrected, i still cannot conceive.....and im planning on suggesting to him I wanna be more agressive and do IVF! (i am done with all this BS!)
Get your way girl! it's you the one suffering! not them....they (some) take us patience like just numbers sometimes,....so frustrating......
