Hello! I have been TTC for almost 2 years now. We finally decided to seek help. I am on my second round of IUI. I took Femara days 3-7 and trigger shot on day 12. 2 days before the trigger I had 4 follicles
. 2 at 17mm and 2 under 13mm. My doctor did the IUI 24 hours after trigger, as she did last time. Is 24 hours to early? I feel like most people IUI 36 hours after trigger. I am now 7 days post IUI. But I don't feel very postive about the upcoming outcome. I guess that's due to the disappointment I've had the past 24 months. Also, I quit smoking
6 days prior to IUI. Will that help my chances? I'll be honest I had a break down today and had 3 smokes...I'm just so tired of feeling like I'll never get pregnant. No excuses though. My husband has no issues, I have PCOS.
It may not be too early. It depends on whether he was timing it for the 17mm or the 13mm follies. The egg only lives about 8 hours. But the sperm can live soooo much longer (male sperm die off before female
My doctor always does it about 14 hours after trigger (tells me to trigger in the evening and then come in the next AM for the IUI) and 36 after trigger.
I always feel like the 14 hours is too early - and I haven't had luck yet. I think i'm going to say something next round.
When did you have your IUI, mine were 4/19 and 4/20, so i'm just 7 DP IUI - not feeling anything, not to optimistinc. :-(
seg107- I had my IUI on 4/20 and I too am not feeling real optimistic. I already took a pregnancy test to find out if the ovidrel was out of my system...BFN, so its totally out. I was hoping it was still in just so I could see what a BFP looks like. Crazy, I know. Anyway, looks like we'll be doing this 2ww together...tick
-tock. I told my husbad already that it didn't work....he said "you don't know that yet" But I feel like I do know that....kinda a gut feeling. But I'm trying to stay positive and hopeful. You do the same!!!!!! :)
My iui's run around $1000 a cycle maybe a little less. That includes my Femera pill, Ovidrel shot, Ultrasounds, husbands sperm washing, and insemination. Its much cheaper than IVF.
