I had my first iui today- with injectables. I am looking for some positive feedback!! I know everyone says it takes 2-3 times, but did any of you out there get preggers on the first iui? This has been a tough month for me with 12 days of injections and very costly. I hope I hear some! Thank you!!!!
I just had my second IUI last week - no luck on the first one, but hoping this one works! I know alot of people have had success on their first one! Good luck to you!
I had my first in Feb. It did work, but sadly I MC at 5w6d. I just got AF for the first time. I will be doing IUI again this cycle if I have a follie on my left side. If you don't mind me asking... about how much was your IUI cycle? If this cycle doesn't do the job, we are considering injectables before moving onto IVF. I would also need 12 or so days worth.
Hey there! It was much more $$$ than we had planned. Mine was around $5500. Our injections were not covered by insurance so they were around $2600. It wouldn't have been as expensive, if our injections would have been covered by insurance.
I pray that God gives me the most desire of my heart this time. I have had 2 m/c and I am 40. If this doesn't work, we are going to adopt. Even if this does work, we are still going to adopt. We went to an adoption meeting 2 weeks ago.
I had success with IUI #3 with injectables. It often takes a few cycles just to figure out if you have the right med dosages. I ordered my meds from England as per my RE's recommendation. I saved soooo much $$!!
I got preggo with TWINS on my 3rd IUI. Our first two IUI's were with clomid only, but,,, It was the injectibles that finally did the trick for me (clomid + low doses of Follistim combo cycle IUI.) Good Luck
problems,,, we also had a low sperm count for the IUI that produced our twins... (8 million sperm after the wash.) So amazing things can happen, even when you least expect it!! I hope that also offers you some encouragement... I cried the whole day thinking our count was too low and it was destined to be another failure. Then two weeks later I found out we're having twins. Do NOT lose HOPE!! Persist!!!
WOW, that is a lot of $$. If you are able to ovulate without meds, you might try doing IUI with just the trigger shot and not the stims. That is what I did with my son.
I smiled when I read your comment. I am in my TWW from my 2nd IUI with Follistim and I too was upset after my IUI. Sperm count for IUI #2 was less than 9 mill. so, I am not too optimistic. Although you are right....you never know. First IUI was with 5 eggs and 27 mill. sperm - which resulted in BFN. Now, this time, 2 eggs with 9 mill sperm. Chances are low....but as you said...you never know.
