IVF & Foods

This is kind of like a poll.  I have done tons of reading and thinking, I have struggled with my weight forever, and within the past 4 years have lost 125 lbs.  Last IVF cycle I counted calories, cheated and gained 15 pounds.  THis time I have decided to let it go, don't need the stress eat as a normal person would.  BUT my question/poll for you is:

1.  When you are in your IVF cycle - Do you Drink any caffeine?
2. Do you use anything with Splenda?
3. Are you eating only wholesome foods or are you making any special changes to your diet?

Just curious what everyone else is doing.

I stopped drinking caffeine, but even decaf coffee cause I read it wans't good for fertility, I stoppped splenda just until I get pregnant and then I will limit it because of worrying we are the lab rats, and i am now eating what I want rather than worrying about the amount of calories and restricting it because it is so stressful to me.

Thanks, Heather

NO no caffeine and nothing like "decaf tea or decaf coffee"  at least until 25 - 30 weeks and then very sparingly
2. Do you use anything with Splenda? NO!  (except this time from weeks 10- 13 it was all I could keep down.
3. Are you ..
yes in the beginning ONLY healthy food - then when m/s kicked in whatever I could keep down

NO chocolate, no lunchmeat

I think all veggies and fruits are good, however organic is best I believe.  You find things on the internet all the time about all of it.  I would give up the coffee slowly.  Go every other day or half decaf, but I even gave up decaf because of the process it goes through to get decaffinated.

I haven't given up coffee. I am so used to having coffee at least one cup a day. I am in the 2nd IVF cycle, yet to start lupron. I hope I haven't done any damage by drinking coffee till now. After reading all the comments above.. I have decided to give up coffee.

Can you please suggest what are the healthy veggies and fruits to consume..

I think that chocolate can't be that bad.  I mean people eat it all the time and they end up getting pregnant naturally.  I mean I know it has caffeine in it but I can't get rid of it.  I want it to much.

I cut out all caffine, including chocolate, i am eating completely organic and trying to stay away from foods high in sodium (i.e. cheese) I have limited my sugar (however i can't resist honey in my caffine free tea) and have tried to eat balanced meals. The problem for me is ever since i started the injections i have not had much of an appetite at all, and have to force myself to eat something. I am also craving water constantly and the doc told me to back off on the water and drink fruit juice or gateraide instead (due to fluid retention) and it *****. the strange thing is that despite my diet I still feel bloated and fat and have not lost or gained any weight.

I started eating more fruits and veggies (but I'd still have a bag of chips, ice cream, etc.) I also ate a lot of spinach salad. I also made some fruit smooties with orange juice and a variety of frozen fruit (I would let the juice go to room temp because I heard that one is not supposed to drink really cold drinks!)

I didn't drink caffeine or soda.  (I am on my 2nd IVF try.)

I did cut out caffeine when I read that it was bad for your fertility but also it slows down your metabolism.  I don't really worry about splenda but I don't really eat many things that have splenda in it.  I have started to eat healthier but haven't really changed everything that I eat.  I have just tried to eat more fruits and veggies because I figure if I get pregnant I should be eating more of these anyway.
