This week I was advised from my doctor this would be the route to go.I have heard people on this site saying that they were doing IVF. What is bothering me is I read in a fertility book if you are gonna do a IVF that to know that most of the time they fail more than suceed. What I would like to know is this true or does it depend on the persons medical promblem? If no one knows please let me know any stories of people that have done IVF. My insurance dont cover a dime so this will be my fist time to do IVF and last time.
I just went through a complete ivf cycle this month. My insurance did pay for all of the medicine but not the procedure. I hear that United Healthcare HMO will pay 90% of ivf and a large pertcentage of the medicine. We failed during our first cycle. I have two possible obstacles. The 1st being my tubes may have been leaking fluid so in Feb we are having my tubes blocked
pregnancy and currently I am getting the effects of the metho. shot (to absorb the pregnancy)....actually the IVF process is not bad at all....just time consuming....I also did acupuncture
with this and I thought this helped tremendously!!! It was great and there are studies that show this increases your chances to get preggers!!! I will be doing IVF again, not sure when... I just went to a homeopathic dr. and she gave me tons of stuff ( my body is all out of whack!!) so I am trying this for now.... not sure when I will do second attempt!! we'll see...anyway if you have any other questions about IVF, let me know... I can give you my home e-mail and I can give you the run-down of IVF....and I have also read a ton of IVF books...which one did you read???? Jacquie
I am one of the success stories. My first IVF cycle ended in a m/c but second resulted in twins. I did lose one of the babies but am now 14wks pregnant with the other. And I still have two frozen
embies. My insurance didn't cover a dime and it is expensive. Many clinics are willing to work with you to an extent. It is SOOO worth it! You will find many ladies on this site that have had success with IVF. Good luck in your decision!!!
I have read so many books, but my favorite was "A few good eggs".... I am reading one on acupuncture and IVF, one on Homeopathic meds and fertility, You see... I bought about 10 books on IVF and fertility....I forgot all the names of them...but I will let you know which to read, at least the ones that I find interesting...Have a great day!!!
Hi i have been through one failed attempt at ivf and am going through another in feb! My insurance didn't cover much either!
I have heard many stories of the ivf being successful the third attempt! Good luck !
Thanks everyone for the feedback on IVF. I really hope it takes first time because its out of pocket for me and I cant do another IVF if I do this one. Jacquie, the book I am reading is called{ DR. RICHARD MARRS FERTILITY BOOK } but it is not just about IVF its about almost everything to do with fertility. Anyone that could tell me about some books on IVF that were good would help. Thanks everyone.
My wife went throu 4 failed (one incomplete) and our 5th IVF resulted in preg.
Actually, we have 3 gestations and we just noticed the heartbeats in all three. IVF is not that bad once you are ready for it. My wife was the one who really got me into it even though I was a bit hesitant in the beginning. Age and fertility issues along with the cost need to be considered along with good support and commitment from your partner. Let me know if you need more information.
PS: Our insurance covered all the 4 failed attempts and hope it will also cover this one. We both work for a big pharma company and we have a really good insurance coverage.
