IVF and Working

We've been working with a clinic and looking at starting a cycle of IVF soon, but I've been offered a new job and I'm wondering if it's possible to start this cycle and a new job around the same time.  I'm not sure how flexible this position will be with time off?  How much time is really necessary to take off for a typical cycle of IVF for doctor appointments and such?  Is there anyone who has successful with IVF and didn't need to ask for time off?

Its difficult but dont loose hope.  i have done 3iui's and 1 ivf cycle and only after that found out that i have hypothyroidism.  i have read thru some websites, it says that many have conceived even with hypo and hyper thyroidism and carried the pregnancy to term.  all the best.

thank you so much for your kind words.... I am on 1 cc of progesteron in oil everyday.... i am still taking the shots (intramuscular) until I get my results tomorrow....they are getting painful b/c of all the knots in my butt!!!! (TMI!!!).....  I also have Hashimottos disease (hyprothyroid) with anti-thyroid antibodies...so I think this may be the cause...what do you think????

Hello.... I just completed my first IVF cycle... I did get preg. but I am now m/c..... anyway.... I needed probably 4 days off total.... 1 day for mock ET, another for ER, and the last for ET (and bed rest ) I was on bedrest for 3 days.... thank goodness it landed on a weekend!!!
But, I also missed some time in the AM b/c my Dr. is 1 hour away....towards the end of the cycle, you need to have bloodwork and u/s everyother day, sometimes every day.... so sometimes I wasa late 15 minutes, other days, I was late 1 hour.... but work was
flexible...although I needed to add up my time and let them know how much time I took.....so, I guess what I am telling you that it is almost like having another job....lots of work, but well worth it in the end!!!  Good luck to you!!!
