Hi, I just turned 40, I have two biological children age 5 and 7 which I am very grateful for. My husband and I started the IVF process in September, my FSH and all other tests came back normal. We were approved by Shared Risk which allows 3 cycles for a set amount. My first cycle was horrible, only 4 follicles
left out of 3. The second cycle he upped my Follistim and menopur, lowered my Lupron. I had better success 6 eggs all fertilized wound up with a low quality blastocyst and a medium quality morula. It did not take. Now I just finished my 3rd cycle, Microdose Lupron Flare, I had much more success 12 follicles
-6 eggs. I was left with 2 medium quality that looked good, Blasts put in on day 5. Of course I am dying for Monday when I find out. I am so nervous. Has anyone had my situation with 2 Blasts that were average quality and one took? I know I am "old" fertility wise, I would just like to maybe hear some positive stories as the statistics are all against me. I also did Accupuncture the last two cycles which seem to help. Sorry for this being so long. Thanks for any replies!!
I know of one success story - at my fertility clinic, there was a 43 year old woman who became pregnant w/triplets via IVF w/her own eggs. I know it's exceedingly rare for this to happen but it did and she gave birth to twins.
I didn't have similar luck but was older than you when I did IVF w/my own eggs which makes a huge difference. I wish you great luck for Monday! - jen
