IVF trials

I've been married for 5 years and could not succeed to get pregnant. The doctors recommended to go for IVF and we tried it but did not succeed either.
I would like to know, how long should I wait before we try it another time? In other words, how many times per year we can try the IVF?

So sorry about m/c.  I know it's a devastating loss and nothing I say will make you feel better but I just wanted to let you know that I remember you from tww in October and it pains me to hear about your loss.  Again, my sympathy goes to you and dh....

Just wondering how many viable embryos you had?  Did you get a second chance to have a frozen transfer after the fresh one failed?  I'm about to begin IVF and in fact I'm going to a consult today.  They tell me I have an over 50% chance of succeeding.  I imagine that they think you have very good odds considering your age.

It is whatever your insurance and your clinic decides.  My husband and I had our first IVF in July..no luck.  Then we had our second IVF in October.  I got pg with twins but m/c 10 weeks 3 days last Saturday.  My insurance pays for 4 so we have to wait until I get my period on my own which my doctor says it can take up to 4 weeks to get since my number finally hit -0.  I can do another cycle after that.
Just ask your doctor and they will be able to tell you.
Good Luck.

The doctor's should let you know how much of a chance you have percentage wise.  And when to try again.  Don't be afraid to go for a second opinion and make sure you are going to a very reputable clinic.  All reputable clinics post their results on the cdc.gov website where you can measure their success against other clinics. Personally I've found hospital affiliated programs to be the best for me.  They get paid a salary either way from the hospital and so they are not motivated for money the way some freestanding clinics might be.... The first time I went to an RE the Doc insisted we needed IVF with icsi.  We went to 3 other Docs after for their opinion and each said my husband was fine.  Just my 2cents on the subject!
