Hi,
I started IVF process and this is my first cycle. I am currently on Lupron twice a day, will start FSH on Friday if the uterus lining looks fine after the ultrasound.

My periods started after I stopped birth control. My nurse said it might be mild but I don't feel my periods are mild. I had some cramping  yesterday and I took 2 Aleve tablets to suppress the pain. I got little worried this morning as I was not sure if I should have taken Aleve as my IVF treatment has started. I called up the nurse and she said that I should be fine. I should just take  Tylenol for any pain after the FSH part begins. I still want to double check because the treatment is new and I got a bit concerned as I took Aleve without checking with my nurse.
Can somebody help me?

Thanks,
Kathyayani

Good luck on your IVF cycle, I hope it is a success.  Don't stress about it too much, if the nurse said it was ok then trust their word.  Now, if you have to take something do take Tylenol.  That was the only medication I was allowed to take without the doctor's permission.

Alleve is out of your system pretty quick. It shouldn't have any effect. The extra cramping is probably from the Lupron. Whenever I start new fertility meds the s/e are more pronounced the 1st cycle. Whenever ttc, it is best to stick with Tylenol products. All of theirs are on my safe sheet. Others can contradict meds or be harmful to an embryo or fetus.  Good luck on your IVF!
