So why do doctors tell you how many eggs you have fertilized the day after the harvest if all of them wont survive? Some people on here just made me aware that my 9 fertilized eggs aren't likely to survive the next day before my transfer. so why would the doctors even tell patients they have fertilized eggs then? Why don't they just wait until the day of the transfer so you don't get your hopes up just to get let down. Urghh so frustrated. How much of a chance do i have of my 9 embies making it to the transfer day? I wanted to use 2 and freeze the rest but now fear i won't have any to freeze. what a crock.

SORRY!!!! You know, doctors actually don't tell us enough, we have to learn on our own.  I didn't even know the first IVF cycle that follicles WEREN'T eggs!!! I was DEVISTATED!!!!  Like I said, try not to stress, that is a HUGE factor in all of this.  IVF is so emotional.  It is WORSE than actually being pregnant!!!

How many embryos make it to transfer and whether you will have any embryos to freeze depends on the quality of your embryos.  We had 9 embryos also and transferred 3 on day 3 but had none to freeze.   I hope your statistics are better than ours were.  You are so much younger so I am sure embryos quality will be better for you guys.  However, we did get our bfp so I am not complaining.

I know how stressful ivf is and I know how it plays with your emotions.  I hope everythings works out for you guys.
