If you was to ovulate really early in your cycle would a day 21 test still show it

Its probably a very dumb question.
I have been ttc my 2nd child for 9 months with no luck.
However my cycles have been irregular anything between 23 days and 62 days.
I have recently had a day 21 progesterone test done which showed my progesterone level to be very low.
I am currenlty on the same cycle  and I am on cd 35 with no sign of my period.
Of course I could simply be heading for another long cycle but not getting my period does make me wonder if I have concieved.
I know a low 21 day progesterone test usually indicates you would not have ovulated but my question is this
If I was to ovulate very early aorund day 8 or 10 would this test still show it.

If you would have ovulated around cd 8 or 10 and not gotten pg, AF would arrive (typically) 12-14 after you ovulated.  That would be the same whether or not you ovulated on cd8 or cd30.  

Okay this next part I'm not 100% sure but I'm thinking it through. If you ovulated on cd8, it would be possible that your progesterone could be really low on cd21 BUT that would mean that AF was coming the same day or very next day.  After ovulation your progesterone level rises. If you get pg the level will stay up and progressive rise. If you do not get pg, the level will drop and this will cause AF to come.  So if AF was due on cd21 or 22, the progesterone would be low.  

If you had the test a couple of days ago and still have not started AF, I think you probably did not ovulated.  

So the thing to remember is, it doesn't matter how long your cycle is, AF comes 12-14 days after ovulation.  So on a 62 day cycle "if" you ovulated it was probably around cd48.  

Some people have a lp defect and that is when the period after ovulation is around 10 days or less.  Since you have long irregular cycles, I'm guessing you don't have an lp defect but it is possible.
