I'm so mad I took this clomid!! More advice needed :-(

hi girls...maybe I'm just venting but I'm so mad that I took this clomid this month for the Clomid Challenge test...I normally ovulate on my own and I can feel when I do...dull aching cramp for a few hours...this month the doc put me on clomid for that test for CD's 5-9...it is now CD 20 and STILL NO OVULATION...I use the fertility monitor and it only says "high" fertility...I'm not getting a "peak" which means ovulation and I don't have any ovulation pains at all.  I don't get it...can a drug that helps women ovulate cause me NOT to ovulate?  I then read that even if I ovulated after CD 20 that the egg probablly didn't mature properly which raises the chance of miscarriage???  I'm so confused...

Sometimes Clomid makes women ovulate later in their cycle. I ovulate about day 18 and I think the norm is 14...

I just wanted to let you know that your fertility monitor likely WILL NOT WORK while you are taking Clomid. The same thing happened to me -- I wasted a whole month watching for the egg to appear in the monitor, but got only "high fertility" for a zillion days. First I thought there was something wrong with me, and then I read the pamphlet that came with my monitor. Bingo, there it was -- Clomid causes the monitor to mis-read your hormones. I could NOT believe that no one in my doctor's office had told me about this, so I called them and asked. Guess what? They were clueless! To say I was angry would be putting it mildly. Anyway, it's not you, it's the monitor. I used mine for two years, and now I'm done with it because of the fertility drugs. However, the ovulation predictor kits still work. Good luck!

Hi there, I already posted a comment to you but it's not showing up, so I'll repeat the info: your fertility monitor will likely NOT WORK while you are on Clomid. The exact same thing happened to me, and I was so mad that my doctor's office didn't tell me about this ahead of time. I wasted one whole cycle on Clomid! Anyway, the ovulation preditor kits still work, try those instead. Good luck!
