Incompetent cervix

Well I finally madi it to 12 weeks and had ultraound today and all well, which is a great releif after having 2 miscarriages this year,  I have now been tiold I will be reffered to a specialist to check if my cervix is becoming incompetent and maybe putting in a stitch as my last baby (#4) was born at 35 weeks and #3 at 37 and my first two at 38,  they say the cervix maybe the problem.  Does anyone know what this will involve as I have no idea?  Also do you think it is possible that this one will not be premature?    Any advice or peoples experiences welcomed.   Many thanx in advance for your time to read this and any response.

I highly recommend getting the stitch.  My first pg was early, second on time, but this time around my cervix is feeling quite open and I think I am going to have this procedure done once I get a BFP and am far enough along.  Quite simple procedure, low risk.  Go for it!

I think this is standard of care for an incompetent cervix.  I'm sorry you've gone through so much.  My friends sister in law had the same diagnosis and had premature babies as well (twins which just worsened the condition). There babies didn't survive.  Heartbreaking.  They are now pregnant again after taking a year to mourn and all is going well.  I know that this couple also said that in the future they would see a high-risk OBGYN who specialized in high-risk pregnancies and can make better recommendations for you.
