Hello Ladies, I'm new to this forum. I need a bit of support and i will appreciate it if you can kindly show your support. I'm 30 turning 31 in may. I got married 4 years ago and i've been ttc since then. I have pcos. I'm on the 5th round of clomid +metformin, ovulated three times but still not prego. I have std about 8 years ago and was undiagnosed for about 1 1/2 years. It was treated as soon as i found out and i have been cleared ever since then. I had U/S done a couple of months ago and there was no mention of PID
A hysterosalpingogram (HSG- where they shoot dye into your uterus and fallopian tubes) should show if they are scarred closed. A regular ultrassound can't show that type of scarring that i know of! Good luck!
could be found through a papsmear, you just have the sample tested for it specifically. Also, I would think since you've been trying to conceive and are already on clomid etc your doctor would have already suggested an HSG? If not maybe you can talk to your doctor yourself about it-that's probably your best bet!
Best wishes to you!
when I was 18yrs old...due to an std I got...I have been trying to concieve (conceive) for over 2yrs and went to an RE in Oct..the doc did a number of routine
..I had an HSG done and yes both tubes were blocked..so my options were IVF or Laproscopic surgery to try and unblock my tubes..My insurance doesnt cover any infertiltiy procedures but they did cover the surgery..I had the surgery 11\19\07...my RE was able to unblock my left tube but not my right...so now I have one good tube..the next month after the Lap we tried Injections + BD ,didnt work..we decided to take a few months off and try on our own...if it doesnt work then we will be doing IUI next..but we are just happy that we did the surgery since now we have more options to try and get preggers then just IVF..Just wanted to share my story with you to give you hope that if your tubes are blocked they can still try to unblock them...Good Luck to You!!

thank you very much for your words of encouragement. I have booked an appointment to have HSG done and if it's tubes issue then i'll will go for the laparoscopy.
Hopefully the HSG will unblock your tubes...its been known to unblock them and then you wont need the lap...the lap for me was painful but worth it...it took me 2wks to get back to my normal size...keep me posted on your IF journey!! Good Luck..
Not to say that you're fully wrong but my RE said that if there is blockage that an HSG is not intended to clear it for that blockage. If it does, it's a temporary effect and further investigation/treatment should be done. Makes sense to me. Why force something that isn't supposed to be forced and cause significant pain?
I was very, very lucky to have no blockage. The doc and me thought there would definately be some because my OB's ultrasound said I had suspected adhesions and my left ovary was stuck to the uterus by these adhesions. But HSG said all clear.
I was just saying about the HSG unblocking tubes because thats what Ive heard has happened to some of the ladies on this forum and they have gotten pregnant afterwards..No it wont fix any blockage but my RE said that it has been known to push some blockage out....didnt happen for me I did lap to remove scar tissue and adhesions..I had it so bad that it was on my liver as well..
Thank you very much Ladies for you coments. You see, because i'm battling with pcos as well, it's hard to tell if it,s tube blockage or pcos. I will definitely get it checked out and i'll keep you posted. I'm just worried about the blockage because i've had std in the past.
And another thing,
I've totally lost my appetite since i started metfomin. when i try to eat it comes back right out. I know you have to have a balanced diet when you're ttc but in my own case no food goes through my mouth. Pls do you ladies have any idea of what suplements i can take.
Yep. My coworker went for an HSG to start the infertility route, got her Clomid and a shot ready to go and she gave it one ol natural college try and wound up pregnant. So it can happen for some that an HSG "clears you out" although not officially documented by the docs.
I'm still hoping for that to be true (mine was in Jan) but an ovarian cyst is probably not going to make that happen. Stupid cyst. *mumbles*
I know what you mean. a friend of mine is sonographer also told me that the dye can flush out some blockage. don't know how far it's true but i hope she's right. I'm yet to have the hsg done but i don't think i can face another blow like tube blockage, i have pcos and 3.5 cyst in left ovary to fight. this stupid pcos is ugh 'ugh tired of it.
