Inject generic hcg subq?

Can you inject generic hcg (10000 units) sub-q instead of IM?  Sub-q is much less painful and since I'm giving myself the shot, it's easier :-)

I don't know about hCG, but with estrogen and progesterone by injection, they have to be intra-muscular.  Try the top of the back of the hip, that's where I give myself my estrogen and progesterone when I'm doing IVF.

I did both ovidrel (prefilled, SQ) and novarel (IM) as SQ shots. My RE said it was totally fine. The injecton site after novarel was a bit more sore after, but other than that worked the same for me.
