Injectables and possible yeast infection

Injectables and possible yeast infection

I've never been prone to yeast infections but last cycle and this cycle, I keep getting a strange discharge that looks like a possible yeast infection.  I even treated it this cycle already once and it is back.  I really have no other symptoms other than my discharge looks like it has some ricotta cheese mixed in it.  Sorry for TMI, but it is what it is.

Anybody else experiencing recurrent yeast infections with injectables?

Hey there!  I haven't been on injectibles before but my OB said that just the "disruption" or change in your "internal balance" can bring on a yeast infection.  Now, just make sure if it doesn't go away that you have your OB check to make sure it's not bacterial vaginosis (sp?).  When I had a yeast infection that wouldn't go away, they double checked me for that as if you don't treat it, it can cause other problems.  It wasn't that thankfully but just keep your eyes on it :-)  Also my OB told me to eat an Activia yogurt a day to help keep the balance all nice in there :-)  It's definitely helped!

It would make sense that a hormonal change would cause a yeast infection.  I used to get them when I would get on or off bc pill.  I would ask your doc what you can use.  Yogurt does help!

I agree with the others about checking with your RE...but the first month I was on femara, I thought I had a yeast infection, too. I had never had one before, so I wasn't really sure, but I had a bit of creamy-looking, yeasty-smelling discharge. This was right before ovulation. When I asked my RE about it, he said it wasn't a yeast infection, but just my body responding to the increase in hormones. And sure enough, a day or so later it was gone.

I'm pretty sure it is a yeast infection. The liquid part of my cm is watery and there are pits of solid pieces that look like ricotta cheese.  No yeast smell tho and no obvious itching or anything.  Last cycle at first I just ignored it thinking it was just a change in my cm.. at the time it was still white and creamy but had the pieces mix in it.. then it got worse.. more like it is right now.. watery with ricotta clumps... sorry TMI.. Last cycle I called my ob/gyn and told them I had a yeast infection.  They called me in a script of fluconazole so this cycle I just refilled it.

I don't know.. not a big deal I guess, just kinda strange.  :)
