Interesting study about implantation

I think we all wonder why some embies implant and others don't.  I found this study that says that the imcrease in estrogen that we have with IVF (b/c each mature follicle usually puts out about a level of 200) may be the cause of implantation failure.  I found it to be interesting and wanted to share.

http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2003-02/vumc-fss020603.php

Levels of estrogen in women undergoing in vitro fertilization rise due to the ovarian hyperstimulation required for retrieving multiple eggs. One prediction from their investigation, Dey says, is that exposure of the uterus to these increased estrogen levels may be contributing to high implantation failure rates.

You know sarge 1 that article you found is talking about high estrogen levels creating better quality eggs.  I have also heard that to be true.  The higher estrogen usually means that you have mature eggs.  But what I don't understand is how these perfect embies don't implant.  The first article is researching this and saying that the high estrogen levels affect the implantation rate.

LOL.  My DH is the same way.  Anyway, this article (the second) was 11/2002 and the first one is 2/2003.  Both were years ago; you would think we would have found out something by now.  I just can't believe that the reason our embies don't implant is b/c they are abnormal (which is what most of the reasons seem to be).  I tend to believe things that seem to be able to happen.  I know our body was not meant to produce so many follicles at one time, so there must be some kind of side effect to that.  Also, the rate of FET or Fresh egg transfers for people using donor eggs is the highest success rate it seems like (but of course they use the excuse that the eggs they are using are from younger women).  I feel like maybe they become preggo faster b/c their system not being hyperstimulated before transfer.  I don't know, but I think if this third IVF doesn't work, I may ask my doctor, for 4th IVF, can we freeze my eggs and do transfer when I am not hyperstimulated.  He will propably think I am nuts....LOL

Here's an article I found while searching for high estrogen levels: http://humrep.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/17/11/2846
This article would seem to contradict the above mentioned article.
I'm doing my first IVF this cycle, and I had high estrodial levels (I belive they were >1000), that's why I was searching.
Well I really don't know what to think, except that DH said he is taking the computer away from me because whatever I read makes me worried.

I think with IVF they want your estrogen levels to be high, like 200 per follicle.  I have read some people are > than 1000.

I don't know either, but it seems like I read a lot of people getting preggo from their FET and maybe it is b/c they are not having their ovaries stimulated.  I have read some people having like 15-20 eggs and transfering two blasts and ending up with BFN and then having a FET and getting Preggo.  I think that each mature follicle is suppose to cause your estrogen level go up 200.  In that study, they said that the perimeters were very narrow but it has not been done on humans, only animals, so they don't know yet.

Normal estrogen is 11-212 during follicular stage, 18-480 midcycle and less than or equal to 247.

This is very interesting...I wish they would have given some ranges of the levels of estrogen that they would like to see in women for successful implantation.  I know that my estrogen was at 235 before they induced the o, but I have no idea if that's too high, too low or just right...any ideas on good levels?
