I agree with mhv. It would depend on the quality if it were me. My RE said that a woman my age would typically transfer 3, but we did a 5 day transfer with AA quality eggs, so we went with two. Based on my beta and the first u/s my RE thinks my pregnancy started as twins and one absorbed, so just be ready if you do a high quality transfer :) I don't think it's an irresponsible thing; it's more about what you can realistically handle emotionally and financially.
That's a tough question....but if you're using donor eggs from a young woman and the eggs produce strong embryos, I would probably only transfer two. I did IVF a few yeas back (with my own eggs, though), and got pregnant with one after transferring two...but like mhv, there are lots of women on here who got pregnant with multiples after their IVF. But either way, it all depends on the number of eggs and the quality of the embryos, so I would just wait and see how things turn out once you're down there. It might be easier to make your decision once you know...and I'm sure your doctor will give you his or her advice, based on your situation, as well. Best of luck with everything!
A lot depends. Your age? Your health? Ever had a baby? Ever been pregnant? Most IVF centers will either refuse to transfer three good quality embryos or at least try their hardest to talk you out of it. Are you going to freeze any? Do you know for sure there are three to work with? Sometimes an embryo may be rendered nonviable and not transferable anyway. You need to talk to the doctor dear. Good luck in whatever you decide.
It depends on how good of embryos they are. If your doing.a 5 day transfer, with high quality embryos, I would hesitate to transfer 3 unless you are 100% ready for triplets. If your doing a 3 day transfer, I would transfer 3. Will the clinic even let you transfer 3 if the embryos are top notch?
It's a tough decision, one I think you and your hubby must decide. We transferred 2 high quality embryos (frozen transfer) and are having twins....
