My good friend has a son due to ivf and just found out she is pregnant with twins from ivf, she was told by someone that it is much more likely to have boys from ivf, is this true???? Anyone want to weigh in? experience?
Oh no, I hope this isn't true!!! Any baby is WONDERFUL but we did sperm spinning for a girl (My husband has produced 5 boys)! I can't wait to read the answers to this question.
Sperm spinning is where the semen is placed in a centrifuge and spun until the x-chromosome (girl) sperm is separated from the y chromosome (boy) sperm. After spinning, the x-chromosome sperm will be found in greater concentrations at the bottom of the sample and the y-chromosome sperm will be found in greater numbers at the top. The desired boy/girl sperm are extracted from the sample and used during IVF. It is reported to be 70% accurate.
