I went for my 2nd trimester u/s and baby was being stubborn. Everytime the nurse went to get him to turn over, she would bump my belly a couple times and he would just kick back in response and not turn over. She could not get all of her measurements, and the ones she did get were good. The baby has great masurements, great heartbeat
and 4 chambers. She told me I was going to have to come back for another ultrasound to get the rest of the measurements, and that was that. I go in for my monthly OB visit two weeks later and the doctor tells me everything looks great, and that he is measuring a little bit big for my date. (Which she told me isnt a problem.) She told me that she wanted the OBGYN staff to do my u/s this time, instead of someone from radiology like the previous time. So, she tells me I need another u/s in 2 weeks and my reg OB visit in 4 weeks. I go check out and the secretary refers me to another lady. She tells me that I am scheduled to meet with a genetics counsellor and the doctor at my next u/s. Now, they never mentioned anything bad, or if there were any problems at all. I looked at the nurses' notes (the one who had done my ultrasound) and she wrote that she could not see my baby's diaphragm
. (My mom who is an RN said that it could be due to his positioning.) Is it normal for them to schedule me for genetics counselling just because they could not get certain measurements?
Being a first time mom, i'm a little worried.
All the advice you can give will help alot!
Thanks
