Ivf & cysts

Hi I have recently started a cycle of IVF & am down regulating with buerslin injections, I went to have a baseline scan today & they discovered a large cyst on one of my ovaries.
They have taken blood to determine if it is active. I was due to start my stimulating injections but have been told not to now. Does this mean I cant do IVF now, has this happened due to the drugs as I didnt have one before? I am 35 & feel that time is ticking away for me & my chances of having a baby.

Well chatting to you guys has made me feel better, it does seem to be quite common. I go back tomorrow to find out if they are going to carry on.
Thanks
Good luck

I had a 3cm x 3cm cycst after my first IVF cycle and found it two months later  which was a few days before my 2nd cycle was due to start.  I had AF in the time b/w they found it and the next ultrasound they did a few days later.  It had shrunk but was still there so I did another few weeks of b/c and it went away.  My Dr. said we could have gone forward with the cycle, but I made the choice to wait because the stims can make the cyst grow and can potentially inhibit the growth of the other follicles on that ovary.  And being our second try we wanted the most optimal results.  From what I have read cysts after IVF and injectable IUI cycles are fairly common.

I got my results & thankfully mine isn't active, so I have to stay on the de regulating for another week & go back thursday to see if they have to cancel or proceed. So I am left waiting again hopefully with better results. Are they going to remove your cyst or drain it or just hope it goes on its own?

I'm in the same position.  Went for a baseline ultrasound 10 days ago and they found a large cyst.  The cyst was producing estrogen so had to cancel IVF cycle.  I went again today and the cyst is slightly smaller, waiting for the bloodwork results.  I'll be back on birth control for the next 3 weeks until they do another test.  Hopefully it'll be gone by then.  The waiting is really hard but there's nothing else you can do.  Yes, the meds are the cause of these cysts.

Good luck
