LOW ESTRADIOL LEVEL in IVF..please help,!!!

i'm now on 14 days of stimulation, (decapeptyl) subcutaneous injection...i had my hormonal blood test today and my Estradiol level is <20 pg/ml...what does it mean? i'm so confious...please help,!!! ANYBODY???

That is what the doctor told me when they cancelled my cycle .. they said that I responded to well to the meds that my estrogen was going up like normal and then just crashed .. They said that it is rare to happen and only happens in 1% of the people that they see.  They told me that it happens usually for people 20-25 years in age bc they respond so well to the meds.

hopefully they jsut need to find the right dose and the right drug to get your ovaries going.
sometimes they get lucky right away, sometimes it's trial an error to find the right combination of things to produce enough eggs.

i still don't know what to think right now, i'm so stressed and worried that this cycle might be cancelled...with my 1st round (failed) of IVF, my estradiol level was 21 pg/ml & my prolactin level was above normal, but the doctor prescribed dostinex for elevated prolactin..now my estradiol level was <21 pg/ml & prolactin level again is above normal...i'm so confused & gettin' nervous right now...

anyway, i'll have my follow-up check-up today so i'll know later...hope everything's fine...

if your E2 was too low, you were NOT responding to the stims.  you had said responded too well, which would make your E2 very high and is seldom a reason to cancel an IVF cycle (but common reason to cancel IUI cycles)

I don't remember what mine was when they cancelled it bc it was over 2 years ago but it was bc my estrogen was too low.

your E2 level should be increasing with your number of follicles maturing.  at 14 days of stims you should be well over 1000 by now ....
when was your last follicle check?
you aren't going to ovulate for IVF.  they stim you until you have as many dominant follicles (>18mm in size), trigger you with hcg to mature the eggs, and you have them retrieved surgically.
for IVF they rarely cancel cycles for overstim-that's a much bigger problem with IUI.

By the way, i started injection last november 28 & my period came on december 4, so today is exactly 1 week after my period. Does low estradiol level means that i'm not ovulating yet? Advices needed please....thanks,!!!

so, there's a tendency that my doctor will cancel this cycle? i'm so worried...tomorrow will be my follow-up check-up with my doctor, but i'm really so confused w/ this result. On my previous ivf treatment, ,my estradiol level was 21 pg/ml, and this cycle it's >20 pg/ml...what was your estradiol level when they cancelled your cycle?

It may mean that you are responding to well to the medications .. that happened to me on one of my fresh cycles .. they had to cancel it but lets hope that isn't the case for you.
