I am trying to get answers for some questions and I asked my dr. office and was told I need to be 45 days late to do a blood test because I have recently had a lap. done. My lap was performed on 10/28 I bled normal then it stopped then on 11/7 my period started. From there I tracked lh
with OPK. I surged on 11/22 (we tussled the day before). At 12/5 I was late. On 12/10 I tested neg. on preggo test. Still no period...I have mild cramps that come and go and my bb's are tender, huge, and have these sharp pains that come and go. I actually felt like light headed last week and tired recently. I have heard that a lap can cause some funky cycle issues and I could be having pms
Sorry I know nothing about what to expect with a lap. But I'm curious what did they find with the Lap? Do you feel it was well worth it? I am on the fence as to whether of not i should get this done for our unexplained fertility.
surge (as expected) and a period 2 weeks after O. This is my second cycle after lap and everything is just as before. Perhaps you should do a blood test to see if you are prego. Did you HPT yet?
. My doc found no endo that he was looking for but discovered scar tissue that was causing the problem. So, definitely worth it! I also read that potential fybroids may prevent implantation and someone on this forum had those discovered during their lap. Endo is always a possibility even if yuo have no other symptoms.
I may be moving on to IVF myself since scar tissue comes back within weeks so I am following your posts very closely.
Is scar tissue the same as endo? I have 2 different opinions on this from 2 different REs. One says that a lap is up to me and that it doesn't usually effect treatment (ie ivf is still inevitable). The other told me do a lap and try timed natural intercourse
problems, including my scar tissue. However, endo may be a problem. You should ask your doc if potential endo will prevent implantation of the embies that they put in during ivf. If it does, you should probably take care of that problem (if there is a problem).
Hi Helen72, I'm feeling the need to move forward with IVF. I'm actually not going to do it with minimal stimulation after all. I've never had surgery, so I guess if there is a problem with me it could possible be endo. The thing is it seems that pregnancy itself may ease endometriosis. I actually know of someone who had had severe endo and used IVF for her first child and then conceived naturally after the birth of her daughter. A lot of REs say if there is endo found during a lap usually treatment doesn't change and in the end it is still IVF. I'm a little torn up about all these decisions. I just don't know if I could bear going thru a lap and then trying again to conceive naturally and not having it work. Yet I wonder if I have a responsibility to push myself to try everything possible.
IVF is a sensible choice since most of the things lap reveals can be corrected by IVF. I will give IUI another try or two and then we'll be moving on to IVF probably late Jan/Feb. I am glad you decided against minimal stimulation. Retreival is most invasive while transfer is an outpatient procedure. Besides, for may ladies on this forum many eggs were retrieved but very few fertilized. I'll be looking for your updates. Good luck!
OK still no AF yet, afriad to test since my dd was a false negative before. I guess I will wait until I reach teh 45 day mark and get a blood test and from there I can get my cycle started with meds if need be and then start Clomid like the original plan was. Unless I am pregg. :) Wishing you ladies the best.
Someone asked if the lap causes missed cycles...from what I read it usually does. I am concerned because I had a normal cycle after surgery & lh rise so I thought that everything was working normal. Now my 2nd one has not shown up...maybe a positive sign
