Laparoscopic surgery

I had Laparoscopic surgery on Fri. July 22nd. On Fri. and Sat. I had the typical post-op discomfort/pain at the incision sites with movement. I did not experience much bloating gas pain in the chest/shoulders or abdomen too much from the CO2 for the first 2 days. Then on Sunday 7/24 I started experiencing terrible chest heaviness/discomfort, like a bloating air/gas feeling when laying down, walking etc. I kept fluids in me and every time I belched it would relieve some discomfort for a very short time but it would hurt every time I belched. Then it seemed like the air/gas continued to be there. I seem to handle it more during the daytime hrs. but around 4pm or so it starts to really bother me. I thought by now, with it being Wed. July 27th this air/gas would be gone by now. I am beginning to be a bit concerned on why I still feel the air/gas in my chest area. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

I agree!  I felt fine as far as the gas thinking " okay so hopefully I wo'nt have to worry about that" but then it hit me like 4 days later. My shoulder ached SO BAD and my chest was heavy.  The aching honestly felt like I hate the flu, but just in my upper torso. I was worried and called and it was that...THE GAS!  :(   It's a horrible feeling  but it just has to work it's way out.  They told me to try to move around as much as possible..AND to take some Gas-X pills.  Hope this helps...and I hope you feel better soon!  Take care!! :)
