Laparoscopy

Today,me and my husband has a consversation about the laparoscopy ,he already noticed before on my first surgery (the dermoid cyst removal) that i felt the pain so bad...i cant get up after two days .i still droggy and when i get up like im floating on the air .mybe just because of the anesthesia ,and i always laying on bed until two days ,and the doctor told me to get up ,since i cant manage the pain ,i had the big cut which is 1/12 inch ,kind wondered my husband shock when he saw the wound ..and the scar now still on here and shows under my belly a bikini cut but the thick scar i have ..its bad ,i can see it ...its not hidden ,thats why my husband told me if theres any other idea to check my tube ,to see if its block or not ,hes hoping that no more incisions or any surgery in my belly ..he said its hurting me a lot ..
for me ,i will always follow what the doctor said but im worried if she re open again my scar in order for her to see the inside tube ..I really depress since last night i couldnt sleep ,am wide awake for the whole night thinking whats the next step ,..and so on ...of course wanting to get conceive i would love to hear that i can be possible get pregnant asap ..after all this check up.....I already done with HSG and also salpingogram and now the next will be laparoscopy ,do i need to  insist the OB not to get the Laparoscopy and tell her try to find a way or any test .I dont like any incision at alll.im scared still ...does anybody knows about checking tube without any incsision or laparoscopy

Guys I really appreciate all your answers in advance it will help me a lot ...To all pregnant woman on here i will say a prayers for You too ..and God bless you all ....

I had the the report on my dermoid surgery  from hospital and i will find out and scan it and send you ...I meant its .1/12 inch ...thats my cut its a bikini cut but the scar is black and think right now ,..I had the cream but i dont know what is the good cream to put on this just to make my scar lighter ...If  someday i got the C/S who knows!  what i think is they will re Open this again ,and I cannot tell if i can be on normal delivery or C/S because i had much prblem already  and had a been a wide cut surgery ..I think this is a Laparatomy ,..sorry i dont know much all about it ..because since i found out that i had a Cyst the doctor took the blood test and examine it ,everything was fine ,..thats why they schedule me for Operation ,within one week .,.I dont have more questions and the most important i thought was ..Take out the DERMOID CYST ,glad it was a Benign..

I'm just a tad confused.  You said you had "the big cut", but then said it was "1/12" long.  Did you mean 1-1/2 in, or 1/2 in, or what?

Neither is very big.  Think carefully about pregnancy if you are distressed by a small scar or a couple of small scars.  Your belly will get big with the pregnancy and weight gain, and might leave you covered with stretch marks from your pubic hairline to your belly button.  You might also get stretch marks on your breasts and thighs.  Stretch marks never, ever go away, although they lighten in color after a few years.  And if you have a C/S, you will have an incision about 4 inches long.

Have a talk with your OB about the laparoscopy, and just express your concerns about it if you are truly worried.  But its very common to do a laparoscopy as a furthur investigation into infertility.  Sometimes they find an easily correctable problem during one.

Hi Amy. I had my laparoscopy done on April 28th.I too am very pain sensitive and kept avoiding it for nearly 6 months just out of fear.I had both HSG and laparoscopy done together and though everything was found to be perfect,i atleast have the satisfaction now that i can just try and conceive naturally.I was put on general anesthesia and woke up nearly 5 and a half hours later to find that the entire procedure was over.I too had that floating in the air feeling that evening and would fall asleep again and again bcoz of the anesthesia effect.I also had pain in my shoulders and soreness in lower abdomen for nearly 2-3 days. However i followed the doctors advice and started moving from the next morning after surgery.I did my cooking, climbed the stairs, went for vegetable and grocery shopping the next day itself and that helped me recover fast. Now that its over,I feel i should have got it done much earlier. You just need to make urself strong and go for it.Atleast you will come to know whats going on inside your body.In my case, while everything was found to be perfect, the doctor found that the hymenal opening of the vagina was too tight and that was preventing full penetration. So the sperms were not reaching where they should be.I had my last cycle messed up bcoz of the lap....i kept spotting for most part of the cycle. However, after a full fledged period that started on May 20th I feel fine and completely normal.I am on cd 9 today and ready to BD in the next few days.Wish you good luck....

Well the incisions from the laparoscopy are not even visible. My doc asked me to avoid taking a full bath till the wound dried up.I avoided using water and soap near the belly button and went for wound clearing 4 days after surgery.By that time it was completely healed up.I drove myself to the doc's clininis on the 4th day after surgery and felt fine.I am completely fine now.In my last post i meant to say that i finished my period on May 20th and am on cd 9 today. My doc put me on femara this cycle for better ovulation.Well,he feels i would conceive natuarraly in the next 3-4 months. He has made the hymenal opening wide and now my DH is able to get a better penetration.I guess being too pain sensitive is bad at times bcoz that always made me keep my DH from penetrating beyond a certain point and so almost all of his semen just remained on the upper part of the vagina. Now its ok.I will just have to try naturally....my doc says there is no need for IUI or IVF at the moment. We'll try for another 4-5 months and God forbid if we are unsuccesful then we'll think of an IUI.

You shouldn't need a big incision for diagnostic laparoscopy. Typically, it consists of 2-3 small (1/2 inch or smaller) incisions. I agree with peek- you need to address your concerns with the doctor who will perform the procedure. You may be worrying for nothing.

that is exactly what i was thinking. i also did a laparoscopy to remove a cyst a few months ago. i had a hard time recovering because i was dizzy the whole time. but i dont understand. laparoscopy left me with three small scars not even one inch big. and one from inside my belly button. but even the 1 1/2 inch isnt big. you said you had a big scar. laparoscopy doesnt leave you with a big scar. maybe you had a laparatomy?
