Thanks for all of the advice! I am a little more relaxed as I keep telling myself that this will solve one more mystery (good or bad - I can cross it off the to-do list ... lol!)
I decided against the massage as the nurse didn't think I would feel up to it either...
I had mine done in June. It'll be fine, you'll be sore for about a week, and it may hurt to pee for a while as well. I got organised and seleceted some good reading and put it within reach of bed, and got myself a bit of a pamper basket together and put it by my bedside. I put in some nice moisturiser, aromatherpy stuff, pain killers etc Try to take it easy and just enjoy not being able to do much!
My Lap. surgery went very smoothly...I had no endo. or anything so that might be why I did so well. My Dr. said he pressed and pressed on me trying to get the CO2 out...and it worked as I had no pain. He also did another HSG while he was in there...I hate that procedure so I was glad he did it while I was out!!! The only problem I had was I barfed my guts up right as I was waking up from surgery...The anesthesia really upset my stomach....The funny part was right when I woke up the nurse said "Hey there, are you doing OK?" I nodded yes...then the wave of nauseousness hit me. She turned her back to me and I tried to yell for her, but due to the tube they had put down my throat, I had lost my voice. So, I banged on the side of the bed and pointed my finger at my mouth to let them know I was getting ready to lose it!! HA!
BUT, I was up and about by that evening. Laying on my stomach was very uncomfortable for a while.
I would not recommend getting a massage so soon...You really do not want to lay on your stomach and you do not want them rubbing around on your belly area.
Good luck!!!!!!!
you may not be able to comfortably lay on your stomach on Sunday! The massage would probably help, but ask them for a pregnancy pillow. Even with the pillow, it might be a bit uncomfortable.
I second the gas pains.. I had a tubal reversal done with the larascopy.. and the pain in ths shoulder was bad.. try and eat some tums.. rolaids, other than that not to bad, it took me a week and half to start really feeling better. Good luck to you =)
Do you think if I scheduled a massage for say, Sunday, that it would help?
I just had laprascopy last Friday. Thankfully I had no endo, scar tissue or anything. I was naive in thinking I would bounce back by Saturday night, but needless to say, I didn't quite bounce.
The worst thing I experienced was pain with the CO2 they pumped into my stomach. After surgery, it stays in you and travels up your diaphram and gets around your shoulders. I had lots of pain in my stomach and shoulders. Just keep heat on it and massage your shoulders often and it helps tremendously. Supposedly, if you get blood flow, it helps absorb the gas. Walk around as much as possible without hurting yourself too...that will help get the CO2 out as well. Good luck with your surgery! I hope you get great news!
