Line on HPT light this morning

I am in a bit of a panic, I am 6 weeks 2 days pregnant and this morning I POAS (I am addicted) and my pregnancy line was lighter then when I POAS on Monday evening.  Could this mean I am miscarrying???

The only other explanation I can think of is that it was my 2nd urine of the morning, I did not have to go to badly and I did not entirely wet the tip of the hpt (this is either an explanation or a good excuse for myself to still have some hope)

I am going to test again today when I get home from work that is usually when I have tested, I so hope line goes back to be really really dark again, I do not have my u/s till Wednesday and all this waiting is driving me nuts

Has anyone had a lighter line after a darker line and everything still be ok????

I am right there with ya about POAS!  I found out that I was pregnant on Dec 27....only day 23 of my cycle.  Not even sure why I tested so early.  I have a clotting disorder and have to take Lovenox shots....so maybe that is why.  I had my HCG levels checked....only 12.  Dr. said not to worry, cause I am so early in my cycle and pregnancy.  But, just took 3rd pg test and line is getting lighter.  This will be my 3rd mc this year.  I sure hope 2008 brings on a change!

I can so relate to your obsession! I was driving myself crazy last week, so I decided to photocopy the picture of the embryo's that I had transfered. This sounds so stupid, but I carry that little picture in my bra, next to my heart. I'm trying just to release it all, and know that I am doing the best that I can do. Good Luck.

I understand your obsessing with POAS. I'm going through the same thing now. I tested postive on CHRISTMAS Eve...of all nights?! I was merely 14 days past ovulation (dpo). I POAS Christmas day just to reassure myself and pos line was the same shade of darkness (First Response).  I POAS again on Dec. 26 thinking the pos line would be darker, but the pos line started to look faded. I had a blood test on Dec, 26 which indicated that my HCG level was only 18 (low, but still in normal range).  I still had this intuition/fear that the HCG level was declining b/c of the lighter line on my post test. So I POAS AGAIN today (Dec. 27th) and sure enough the positive line totally disappeared. I called the doctor's office, but they told me to stay calm and that they can't do anything until tomorrow until I take my next HCG marker (to see if its rising or declining).  Clearly its declining b/c the postive HCG is no longer detectable in my urine. So much for a Christmas Miracle.

Very good info :)  I've been citing the same info for several days now. I have had it happen myself. It's not worth that aggrevation.

I agree with miky72.  You need to stop POAS.  You can definately go to the ER for an U/S, but please don't let the fear of m/c steal your joy of being pregnant.

I found this info on peeonastick.com.  Hope it is helpful.

9. I took another test and the line is lighter. Does this mean anything? Should it get darker?
Not necessarily. In general, the positive line will be darker when a greater amount of hCG is present in the urine, but not always. Some tests contain more or less dye (meaning there is just more or less color to "stick" to your hCG.) Some tests are more or less sensitive-- even 2 tests in the same box can be different. Also, your urine may have more or less hCG in it depending on what you ate or drank, or how long it's been since you last peed. Food itself does not cause false results, but can affect how much urine you have and how dilute it is. Eating salty chips and drinking caffeine all day will result in more concentrated pee, whereas gorging on watermelon and ginger ale will result in lots of very dilute pee. But an HPT is not meant to tell you "how" pregnant you are. It only tells you if you are pregnant or not. As long as there is a line in the results window, you are pregnant.

Some women experiencing early miscarriages do notice their lines getting fainter or disappearing entirely, but even if your line gets fainter, it is not a guarantee that you are miscarrying, or that anything is wrong. See FAQ 21 for normal levels of hCG and how to properly measure it.

I totally understand your worries..I'm soo afraid of a second ectopic.
maybe you should go the the ER saying that you do not feel good and get an U/S (I know its not very ethic but I had a frien who did that trick evry time she felt something she did not like...)
