Low AMH (3.8) at age 29 started Femara

Hi there after not being able to fall pregnant after 8 months I pushed my Ob for testing as I was starting to become concerned about nothing happening... I was very blessed to naturally concieve our beautiful little boy 27months ago. Lucky I did as I have found out I have an extremely low amh reserve of 3.8  unusally low for my age I have been advised!! A complete shock but thankfully natural instinct realised something wasnt right... So my Ob started me on my last cycle on femara 2.5mg... 28days later Iam again unsucessful .. Its my first cycle on it so this is all new territory for me... I guess Iam looking for some comfort & wondering if you can fall quickly with assisted femara in a few cycles ... all my other stats are normal & so I am to go another few cycles naturally with the assistance of femara b4 we go down the IUI or IVF track....

To add my 1st experience with femara ... Noticed ovulation pains like nothing I have ever experience - severe pain lasting from 2am -7am! then cramping on & off for 4 days post ovulation!

Any feedback so greatly appreciated... Lou x

Thankyou for replying its nice to hear there is still hope :) ... Its so hard to comprehend all this after having our little boy! I just thought 2nd time round would be easy & would happen pretty quick ! Its a strange feeling being a women & hearing that chances of having more children naturally will be very slim & having to tell my husband that Iam almost barron is heartbreaking! I guess we really take it all for granted dont we! I know Iam just so blessed to have a child but I really want to be able to give our family more children.

My tubes are ok & no pcos... I understand the normal range is between 14&30.. I really thought that my chances were impossible but is so fantastic & hopfull to hear women with lower levels are conceiving .

Do you or anyone know if using stimulating hormone drugs (femara/clomoid or like) alone without injectables is enough to fall pregnant with low AMH?
My ob is hoping that it will be as we really dont want to have to go down IUI or IVF track... I stress & worry enough as it is & I dont think its a favourable option!

Many thanks Lou :)
Fingers crossed xox

Hey lousia, 3.8 AMH is not bad at all. As i know, anything above 1 is good. The reason could be something else. I dont have any experience with femara though. Your tubes are ok? i guess you dont have any pcos either. in next few months you might be able to conceive. dont stress out. women out here are having 0.1, 0.3, 0.4 AMH and still able to conceive and are trying to conceive. so dont loose hope. it will happen soon.
