Low beta, slow rise...post FET. Opinions please

Hi All,
I had a 6dt on aug 13th with 2 healthy embryos. Beta results post transfer have been showing very low hog beta and rising very slowly. We are not getting any clear answers from our RE but internet search and some indications from the RE are making us think if this an pending MC or an ectopic. Following are the beta numbers so far:

Aug 23 : 11
Aug 25: 19
Aug 27: 50
Aug 30: 177
Sep 2: 375

Anyone with knowledge or experience, could you please share your thoughts on what these numbers may mean in terms of the viability or chances of it being ectopic.

Unfortunately all u can do is wait it out.  It could go either way.  I know not what u wanted to hear.  I have heard of a few people that have had a positive outcome with slow rising numbers.  Good luck

since the beta is rising so slowly,better go for an ultrasound trans vaginally to see the gestational sac...any ectopic(GOD forbid) can be picked up by a TVS....but dont be upset if u dont hear d heartbeat bcos fetal heart sounds are evident only at d end of 5 weeks or sometimes in d early 5th week...good luck...take care

I was told a transvaginal ultrasoiund is practically useless until the beta HCG is above 1000?

All: thanks for the response....this wait and fear of ecotopic is tough to deal with. Hopefully god will hear our prayers.
JennyB0125  - RE is the doctor that performs these procedures; and 6dt is the 6 day transfer in other words the age of the embryo at the time of the transfer
Trying43 - yeah...i also heard that some people had success decpite the low numbers...but it seems to be rare.
Cutepoppy - We have the US boked for the 7th...lets see what comes out of it.

Mbbs: your numbers ar not bad. Compare on betabase.info.  it will tell u how often urs are doubling.  when r they doing ur 3rd beta.

Montrealwife: yours are doubling so u r good from what i can tell. use the same web site. they will tell u hwo quickly they double and let u compare to peiple who got it on the same cd as u.  GL ladies.

Hi All,
So... I went for the U/S today, they could not see anything with the the normal U/S and then did the TVS. Even with the TVS the said that there appears to be a gest. sac of a size of a 5 week, in tge uteris, but no heartbeat. And that it's too early...
They said there appears to be no signs of ectopic, but again too early to say anything.
Ultimately... They said it's too early to confirm or rule out anything.
Your thoughts...?

Most re/dr wont do one until 6 wks min. it is hard to see anything. at 6 weeks they still have to do the one that they stick up inside of u. it can still be hard to get anything that early.  I hope u r fine and keep thinking +. I have a girl on another forum that was told they could see anything and she is 6-7 weeks. another dr came in and after 20 mins found the baby and the heart beat. It doenst mean anuthing is worng they are just so tiny at this stage that they are hard to find and see clearly.  Keep your head up.

5 weeks is too early to get a heartbeat...i think you will have to go for a second tvs at the end of 7th week...since the sac is there ,definitely i think its a viable pregnancy...so cheer up...praying for you

I am trying to schedule another U/S for next week.
In the mean time, I had another beta test drawn yesterday, 7 days after the last time, and the results came back as: 1844
According to an online Hcg doubling time calculator, it means a doubling time of aprox 73.5 hrs.
Again... not sure what does all this mean.

well your beta looks great....as for the doubling time,you are right...but dont worry as far your beta is good and you hav a gestational sac its jus fine...next week USG should give you the answers you are looking for...take care

want to update my status after 2 weeks of waiting after my first IUI dated Aug 20.

Sept 3 - beta 21
Sept 5 - beta 59.5
Sept 7 - beta 89
Sept 12 - beta 500
sept 16 - another blood test and then US but my doctors call me shes suspicious that its not normal pregnancy. pls pray for me on friday that everything will be fine. anyone have same experience.

U numbers look great!!! they are almost doubling every time. really if u think sept 3 doubled should have been 42 but u got a 59.5 so maybe they testedu a little late that day. so then the 42 would have been 84 so 89 is still good.  then 500 is great.  u more then double each time. I think thinks are great. keep the faith. i will pray for u.

thanks for prayers. i went to my doctor last friday sept 16. she did u/s and my beta increase to 900. but according to her shes suspect ectopic pregnancy. on my left tube. so ill be back on tuesday for more testing. more blood work. im hoping for the best. and please pray for me. thank you very much.

Hi Montreal Wife,
I hope and pray it will turn out be fine...sometimes its just eary and things are too little that ther are hard to be confirmed either way. Follow up US may be able to confirm, but in the mean time, just as a precautionory measure make sure you discuss with your doctor any symptoms you need to watch for.

All:    I know this is going to sound crazy  and i dont understand this month. my nausa is through the roof!!!! i am eating far less and even riding or walking some times makes me want to puck!  I am peeing a lot!! I peed 4 times lastnight between 10- and 7 this morning.  What is wrong with me. Plus my lower back i still hurting.  Any suggestions.  Dh said well if u had not gotten a neg and your cycle i would say u r prego but i got both of those so that is not it.

Hi dear,was just reading through ur posts & felt compelled 2 share my fears. I had my 1st beta 9/9, it was 43, 2nd beta 9/12 was 102, however scheduled 4 my 1st uss 10/7.Mnwhile i'v been using HPT since 9/16, but kept getting negative results, should hav done a beta Hcg, but not readily available where i live until i travel back 2 d hospital where i'm receiving my ivf treatments. I havent had any bleeding nor crampning, i'm exactly 3weeks 3days post ET. Really need some support & prayers, just trying to stay positive until my uss.

Hi everybody it's been 4months the last time I visited the forum. To update my pregnancy went to ectopic so my dr. Need to removed it by laparoscopy last oct. it went good I rest for one week then back to work.
I came back to tell you I started IVF dec 28. I have 9 eggs and 2 embryo transfer to me yesterday Jan 10. Now I'm on the 2ww time. It's kind of stress for me and my dh bec it's our last chance I'm already 40 turning 41 this year. I'm hoping for the best and in God will my pregnancy will push through. Please formers pray for me as I still keep secret this treatment to my family.
