Metformin and PCOS

Has anyone ever gotten prego with just taking the Metformin?  or Did it trigger regular ovulation?
I will be starting the Metformin first then i will be taking the clomid if that doesnt work.  I was just wondering thanks.

I haven't taken it myself. But, there have been many posters get pg once starting Metformin.

I have PCOS too and I am on metformin. It didn't work for me though. I ovulated only with injectibles. But my friend(very lucky) she got pregnant on metformin and her dd is 13 months old.

I'm on metformin I've been on them sence 21 I'm now 29 I been trying 2 get pg for the last 8 months nothing is happening, I don't ouvlated no lh surge so my doctor want 2 put me on colmid, I want to take it but what is the side effects of this med? If anyone knows please let me know

Hi Im a 23 year old and i was diagnosed with having PCOS about 4 years ago. I have been battling this for a while now and i find that nothing has changed. My Mensis is very irregular and i just recently heard about Metformin. I was wondering to those who have taken it, have you seen any positive effects from it???? Also are there side effects later when i want to have kids? i have tried birth control and i feel that it jus makes me gain more weight. I need help!!!! Anyone that has any information please post!
