My OPK
I started an OPK on cycle day 11. The first 3 days i did not get a line at all in the test area. I DID get a line in control area though, so it tells me the test is working....after those first 3 days, i started getting a faint line in test area...each day it got darker, not by much but a def.tly different from the day before. Yesterday got alot darker but not the same as or darker than control, so i was expecting a Surge either today or tomorrow. Well, my test tonight the test line area is really fainted again...doesnt that mean i didnt ovulate..and wont this month..could i have missed my Surge..i thought when you get the Surge ,you get it for at least 2 days before it drops....maybe i did something wrong? im not sure...i felt O-pains yesterday and the day before that...and now all i have are sore boobs and headaches.
Oh another thing, i took the test at 5:30 am but it was the 3rd time i had to pee since 4am...so i didnt use first morning pee,lol
No i do not, i have more news though, i took my OPK this morning and got a result in less then 2 min.'s...a definate Positive!! Im thinking that on tues. and Wed...i was supposed to O but something must've interfered...and O stopped and is now starting up again for real, at least thats what i looked up on the web about what was happening to me...it says sometimes if you get a 'almost' but not quite Positive OPK and then goes back to being neg...that means your body was preparing to O but something interfered such as stress, illness, etc. And that if you receive a pos. results after all that happening it means your body knew you didnt release that eggie and is attempting to do it again, but i never saw my OPK test line 'this' dark..i mean it was almost darker then the control line and it popped up so quickly..dont know if it has something to do with taking the test in the AM, but i took another test 3pm and it was back to a faded test line....so i dont know...maybe its because i didnt refrain from peeing for 2 hours??? i didnt drink anything 2 hours before i test but i have to pee every 30 min.'s...
I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic... I've not bee through that myself, but I have had two miscarriages :-(
As for the HPTs, it's up to you. Ideally, you should wait until your period is late, but it can be hard to wait that long. It also depends on the type of HPT you use, since some detect levels as low as 20, while others need 150 to turn positive. Although, if you go by Wednesday as your ovulation day, then the 19th would be exactly 14 days later. Do you know approximately how long your normal luteal phase is (from ovulation until AF)?

TY. yes my 2 darkest were Tues. and Wed. and thats when i had the CM and O-Pain. I didnt take a test yet today..but im due to soon. According to my O-cally, i can take a HPT 11/19-11/21..im due AF 11/23. Thing is last time i got preg. 3months ago...i O'd 6/28-7/2, BUT i got symptoms 7/7, took a HPT 7/14, which was one day AFTER my missed AF and it was neg. took another HPT 7/17 and got a BFP. So im not sure yet what to do...take one when my cally says i can or just wait until i miss a AF. Also that pregnancy 3 months ago turned out to implant in my tube. :( So im hoping and praying this time it goes to the right spot.
I find that I get the most accurate results earlier rather than later. I am obsessive and test several times a day. I usually get the best results from the time I wake up until around noon. There are exceptions, where I have gotten a pos at 5pm-ish. But, rarely after that. And, when I did get pos at 5ish, it was still pos in the am.

I bet you just missed it then and that you did in fact ovulate. Especially since you also had stretchy cervical mucus. I've had a couple of months where my OPKs would get darker every day, but still not quite as dark as the test line, and then lighter again. So I just went with the darkest day as my surge day. Best of luck this month! Hopefully you'll get a BFP in a coupe of weeks!
Thanx for your response Heather. :) Yes i test the same time everyday..about 5pm. I took another test tonight at 7pm...and the test line was barely visible, lighter then 5pm's test. Yes , i make sure i dont drink or pee 2 hours before i test. Maybe i got a positive and didnt realise it, i mean yesterdays WAS pretty close..but i went on PeeOnAStick.com and looked at the woman's on there experiment with OPK's and on the pictures of where she says her test was positive, the both lines dont look EXACTLY the same..but she said she called the manufactor of the OPK and sent them the picture of it and they told her it was a positive cause 'Some' of her test line was dark as the control, BUT i thought the whole test line had to be identically dark as or darker then control line to be a positive? Yes, yesterday and the 4th i had also O-Pain and stretchy like Cervical mucus, the 4th is also when my headaches and soreboobs started. I guess i keep testing until my tests are gone...but i guess count down 14 days and then take a HPT, incase i DID ovulate the past 2 days. We didnt BD Sat. the 1st but we have been since the 2nd. Come to think of it i also couldnt sleep very well on the night of the 2nd and 3rd,like i wasnt tired at all, i tossed and turned and kept awake and looking at the clock...since the night of the 4th i got increase of fatigue more then normal and been sleeping very well since. Who knows, knowing me i missed my Surge or i dont know how to read the OPK very well.
I only get the surge for one day, but I know others have the two lines for more than one day. As for the darker to lighter results...are you testing at the same time every day, and are you limiting your liquid intake beforehand?
It is possible that you missed it... Although, it kinda sounds like you ovulated yesterday, since you had O pain yesterday and tender breasts today. Have you been BD'ing over the past few days? Just in case, though, I would definitely continue to BD, and also continue testing for a few more days.
