New to Charting Cervical Mucus

I just started charting my CM and not sure if I am doing it right. For example in the morning i noted Dry then in the afternoon it was wet and sticky. The next day, morning it was creamy/lotion and Afternoon tiny EW and Evening some EW and sticky.  So for the first day would i take sticky or Dry? And the second day? Please help.
