Hi guys! I haven't been on much... just a little bummed that my last IUI didn't work =( It looks like we are moving forward to IVF! Kind of scary since we don't have insurance coverage and if this doesn't work it's our last shot! I am hopeful though.... I have a few questions if anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. Well here's the plan... I go in for a Hysteroscopy in the beg, of my next cycle then we'll plan the calendar from then... I have my transfer scheduled for the 1st week of June. Ok here are my questions: What is the difference between a 3 day transfer and 5 day transfer? Do the shots hurt for injectable meds? How much weight will could I gain using them (an estimate)*this might sound like a silly question but the papers say it could be as much as 5 pounds every few days!!! That kind of freaks me out =) One last one, I have a blocked
Hi and welcome to the forum.
I have some answers to your questions and maybe you'll get the others from somebody else..
A day 3 transfer is a transfer of an embryo
that is more than 100 cells.
In the last years of IVF Dr try to do 5 days transfer to try to avoid multiples pregnancy.
The pregnancy rate is also a little better with 5 days transfer.
The shots do not hurt at all you'll see it is more scary to hear it than to do it..
The only ones that hurt a little is the progesterone one (IM) that you have to do after your retrieval and if you get pregnant at least until week 10 of the pregnancy.
I did not gain weight during the stimulation but I know everyone is different.
You want to watch out for a sudden weight gain since it can be a sign of Ovearia Hiperstimulation syndrome.
I hope this helps,
good luck!

to avoid the multiple births (since i'm young) but I told them that if there were 2 good ones I want 2 just to have a better chance of one sticking and twins wouldn't be sooo bad =) I would hope to get twins! I am glad to hear you didn't gain weight! It may sound silly to worry about that but I do =) Thanks again!
hi,inever tried IVF but iam already taking ovulatory stimulators like those used in IVF,they never hurt&2 know i prefer to give them to myself rather than wait to be persed by some1 else but realy it doesn't hurt, only the progesterone shot hurt a little as it is oily so thick so my advice is to b evacuated IM v.slowly with steady flow&to keep masaging after it to help its distribution
&about weight gain, iam taking &didn't gain till now only feel like my stomach part swells alot then falls down when AF comes,it may vary from 1 to another but don't hear too many as many things said r wrong&disappointing, good luck.
.i had mine removed cos mine was filled with fluid and my re had told me it must be drained or tube taken out b4 ivf."the fluid is poisenous and will cause mc if you get preg"he said.so you might want to look into that b4 going through all the stress.i hope this helps
good luck

thanks for the advice for those meds! I'll try the massaging after =) I'm nervous and not sure how I'll do it. I'm glad to hear you didn't gain weight either!

Well we have NO idea why my tube is blocked! I actually had a baby 9 years ago and now that I've been trying for the last 2 I found out my tube was blocked (kinda weird) so I'm nervous because my RE thinks there is no need for the lap but he doesn't even know why it's blocked we just know it's blocked from my HSG. I worry it might be something more like endo but who knows... Not sure what to do there...
