New to site - secondary infertility

Hi all

I'm new to the site and just wanted to say hi!  I am 31 years old, and have a beautiful 2.5 year old daughter.  Had no problems conceiving her (got pg on first cycle after stopping bc!) and had a normal delivery.  Last May, again conceived with no problems (on the first cycle of "trying" again!) but sadly had a mc in August.  We have been ttc ever since, with no success.  I am angry, confused, frustrated - I know you all know how I feel.  I'm so happy to have found this site!  Several of my friends have had difficulty conceiving a second child, but they have now all become pg - one just delivered last week!  So as helpful as they've been, we're not in the same boat anymore so I'm happy to have found a place I can go!  Thanks to you all in advance - you'll be getting some questions from me soon!

Michele-Welcome!  I hope you find this site helpful-I know I sure love the support from all the other women in my ttc situation! I'm sorry about your m/c. I had one too last Feb. after my first BFP.  Have you consulted your gyn or RE?  Well, good luck with everything!   Don't be afraid to ask anything. =)

I'm sorry about your m/c, and know TTC can be frustrating, but don't give up yet.  You did get pregnant again somehat recently and your m/c was less than a year ago. You still have an excellent chance of another successful pregnancy.

If you don't get pregnant within another 2 cycles or so, you should then seek out a specialist.  Infertility is technically at least 1 year of TTC at your age, so you're not "infertile" just now.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Thanks guys - I am now seeing a RE.  Its been tough - I live out of the country (in Bermuda!  I know - poor me ha!) and there are no REs here so I have to go back to the states to see my RE.  I go to one where my parents live, but have not been too happy with him.  Our insurance does not cover any fertility issues so we are paying out of pocket, which we are completely prepared for - but my RE is overly concerned with how much everything is costing me and hence I feel like I'm not getting the "full treatment".  Rather than telling me my options and their associated costs, he is just making decisions based on the cheapest options.  He is putting me on Femara for my next cycle - I'll see how that goes and then consider finding someone new.
