So i started my first cycle of 50mg clomid this month on my cd3-7 and my doctor told me to bd everyother day cd11-19 and I used OPKs according to its instructions which told me to start testing cd14 for a week since my cycle length is 31 days, Since I dont have a cycle on my own i take provera started the first of every month for ten days and i usually start my cycle on day 11. I am now on cd 21 and used the OPKs for 8 days and didnt get one Positive. My second test was the darkest line but not dark enough to be a positive. How lickly is it that I might have missed my ovulation before i started testing? And what should I do now? Thanks
Sometimes you have to find the dose that works for you on Clomid. I never would ovualte at 50mg but at 100mg I would.. Possible u did not ovulate at that dose and it will need to be increased at your next cycle. Did ur doctor do a day 21 blood test to confirm that clomid did not cause ovulation?
Hey!! i also didn't O till my doc put me on 150 mg of clomid and i finally started Ovuation....but she also had me do a blood test on cd21 every month to see if i had the big O and last month with 150 i finally did....i didnt get preg so this is my 4th month on clomid....
I called my doctor today to find out whats next and she said she wants me to stay on 50mg clomid for another month. Its so fusterating!! Its just a waste
Hi,
I was facing the same issue this month, clomid (100mg) days 3-7 but no +OPK until today (CD17). however, I was charting my BBT and as per my accupuncturist, based on the spike and drop i ovulated around day 14.
Will request my RE to do a day 21 blood work and see if I did ovulate or not.
keeping my fingers
that were getting larger and larger but no ovulation, so RE gave me trigger shot.
I feel for you about your frustration with feeling like it's a waste. I just finished my 4th round of clomid and it thinned my lining each time. My RE mentioned the possibility of switching to injectables after the first cycle with thinned lining, but then kept wanting me to try one more clomid cycle to see if it would work. Had cysts left after 2 of the clomid cycles so also had to do 2 rest cycles in between - 6 mos. total that felt wasted. I think sometimes they don't realize how emotionally draining each failed cycle and all of the waiting is. I had to be persistent about requesting that we move on to try something different bc clomid not working. Will finally be switching to injectables next cycle. Will be more expensive but worth every penny if it works.
It's so frustrating I went through a year of not ovulating on 50mg, 100mg and even 150mg. The dr then decided to start me on a new process which is 150mg chlomid and an hcg shot after daily scans to check what size my follicles
