No periods

No periods

Can anyone help. I suffer from PCOS and am desperate to begin taking the clomid tablets prescribed but no sign of a period for weeks and weeks. Any advice please??

If it has been a long time since you last had your period, I would set up an appointment with your doctor so they can check things out and possibly give you a progesterone supplement to get your cycle back on track. The progesterone will "trick" your body into thinking that you already ovulated, and therefore bring on a period. Good luck!

My doctor put me on provera to make my cycle come. I would go 6 months to a year without a period if I did not use the provera pills. Then, I would have outbreaks with the bleeding if I didn't take the pills. He didn't put me on birth control because he knew I wanted to have kids.

I have pcos too and doc would give me provera to bring  my periods. As Heather said you should go to your doctor. Also metformin and clomid works well for some. Some of the women who were on metformin have had regular periods after being on the Meds for few months. Talk to your doctor. Good luck!

i definetly think the girls are right about asking your dr about what you need! But if you need something OTC you could try Vitex, im taking it and it supposed to help bring on my ovulation!! but its great to regulate the whole cycle not just this!! I made my own decision but i do not have PCOS either but you might ask your dr if you could take it its very cheap and available at any health food store! keep in mine some drs are for herbal meds some are not so your dr may be a no go on this one but if you read up on its not bad!!!

I went to the doctors today and she was decidedly unhelpful. She would not prescribe me anything in case it interferred with the things the infertility clinic I'm under at the hospital wants to do. The trouble with that is the things the clinic have arranged all hinge on me actually having a period. The odds for that are very slim considering that since Sept 2007 I have had the sum total of 4 periods. She is meant to be phoning the clinic and then phoning me back. So far no joy. I am really beginning to despair and I don't know what the next step is. I really need to get into some sort of cycle but I fear that I'm never going to be able to do so on my own. Anyone else had a similar experience?
