. I have to tell someone. We have four 3 huge (understament) Live Oak trees lining our driveway. Well now we have two. When we got home last night one of the biggest uprooted and was lying on the ground. It crushed everything in the front yard. Our fence my husband company truck, our neighbours vehicle, it took down wires. It was the craziest thing we have every seen. There is no real cause of this, there was no bad weather it just feel. If we would have been home 20 minutes early we could have been crushed. This is just to scary to think about. What a bad it was, first I found out that dh was making misshaped sperm, then this. Sorry for unleashing all of this on you guys, but I just had to tell someone. Hope your day is going better than mine!! : (
Roots and all? That is very strange. I live in Daytona and have seen plenty of downed oaks. Usually, it is due to the tree dying inside and not showing outward signs. Then it just falls over. Wow, any storm activity yesterday? Maybe a downburst or a microburst?
Yes roots and all. There was no storm at all but it has been raining here a lot. The only thing that we can think of is the tree was sick. It showed no signs of sickness, but I guess that would be the only logical reason. Thanks for caring!!! : )
but it was tramatising for a lot of his cousins and they don't talk about it. It too just fell for no reason. So will your insurance cover the damage? Do you have to pay for the neighbors car or the company truck? That is so freaky all the cleanup will keep you so busy you will have little time to obsess over the 2ww :) Hope all goes well!
Thank you so much for your kind words. Now we are playing the run around game with our insurance agency. GGGUURRGGGHH This is so frustrating.
My dad is a photographer and he took some great pictures of the whole thing. If you would like to check it out you can see them at www.timschooler.com/thetree
Wow what a day, I don't think I can handle too many of these!! : (
HOLY TREE! Wow, how scary! So glad everyone is okay! That could have been bad. Thank your lucky stars. Kinda of a crazy day yesterday with stuff like that. We live right outside of Minneapolis, where the bridge collapsed. My Daddy drives that bridge everyday around that time. You just got to be thankful because in a moments notice it all can change!
