OPK Testing Time

Hey everyone......quick question. I've read on line and in the instructions that the best time to test is in between 10a-8p. Why is this? I tested when I woke up at 7a (not realizing that might be too early) and got +'s the last 2 days. I've been testing the past 5 days. I have other signs of ovulation so my tests seem to be working. Or are they since it's before 10a? Any thoughts on this? I'm kinda confused since this is my first month using OPK.

They tell you to test after 10 since LH surge is more likely to start in that time period and if you test too early you may miss it.  But obviously you did not miss it  :)

Different brands have different directions, too. Some say to use fmu and others say later. I test 2x a day just to be sure I don't miss it. Some cycles my surge is only 12hrs. If I only tested 1x a day, I could easily miss it. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. I've tested + the past 3 mornings. I must have caught it early then. I wouldn't think it will be + tomorrow too. I guess each month could be different so I will try it 2x next month. Hopefully I won't need to but probably will. I got cheap ones that seem to work pretty good for me so i can do it twice a day. thanks again :-)

I used to buy these really cheap OPK strips at: http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/ and test twice a day, just like Tina said.  They also have really cheap pregnancy tests if you are POASaholic  :)

Hopefully you'll get your BFP this month and you don't have to test any more.

Thanks for the web site. Those testing kits can get expensive....even the cheapies. The more months I go along the more pg tests I seem to end up using. I don't know why I do that when I usually know the outcome. Guess just hoping to be surprised with a +. When do you go for your next check up?

My next check-up is not till Monday!  I am going out of my mind.  My doc tests HCG one week apart rather than every other day.  I have no pregnancy signs and have no idea if everything is going well.  I am actually itching to POAS just to make sure I am still pregnant.  

I don't even know how much money I spent on OPKs and HPTs, probably 100s of dollars over the years.  I was really happy when I found those 99 cents cheap test sticks.

I like the IC, too. (Internet Cheapos) It seems like the more you have, the more you test though, lol.
