Options for me.....

I went on Clomid for 3 months back in April, May and June.  I broke out terribly and went off of it.  I had one IUI done in September, but realized that we couldn't afford to do it every month, or take the time off work, etc, so stopped.

When I was on Clomid, I O'd on day 17, day 21 and day 23.  Without Clomid I usually O around day 22-26.  My doctor said that with Clomid I should have O'd around day 14 and that most likely it didn't work for me.

Does anybody know of some alternatives to Clomid that have worked for them???  AF just appeared yesterday after I was so sure that this was my month.  I'm getting so discouraged and wondering if it will ever happen for me (it seems so easy for all of my friends).

I started the Letrozole and Ovidrel (injectable) this month, I paid $45.00 to a private mail pharmacy used through my doctors office. I think its called Freedom. Anyways i have had very little side effects with both medicines. I have had minor cramping and headaches. Which i dont know if i can say the headaches are from the meds or the stress. Im now on my two week wait, so i will keep my fingers crossed. Good Luck to you.

Maybe if you did one trigger shot when your follicle(s) get large enough that would help. I use Novarel and it is $55.

Letrozole is an alternative to clomid and doesnt have the same side effects of clomid. It doesnt dry up the cm as much and supposidly theres not as many mood swings. I am starting mine tonight day 2, so hopefully this will be my month! Ill keep you posted on the side effects.

I used clomit for 5 months and ovulated only once and didn't get pregnant.I was using 100 mg. Then i did a combo of clomit with injectables and got pregnant twice and without IUI. Unfortunately i miscarried and now i'm doing tests to see what's wrong. Speak with your doctor for the injectables. They may be a little bit expensive but are worth every penny. I lost my time on clomit. I don't have insurance so i'm paying everything out of my pocket. But there's nothing i can do. I'm gonna try again next year and my RE is gonna use same method. Clomit + injectables. Good luck

Yes, they did bloodwork and I did O, but not around the time I was supposed to.  I believe I was on 100mg, I know that they started me lower and then upped it.   My cycles are anywhere from 34 days to 45 days, and ideally I'd like to be around 28 days, so that I have more chances of getting pregnant in the year.  I have an appt on the 8th, so I'll get the scoop from my dr. then.  Thanks!

I took clomid for the past two months.  This month I decided not too b/c of Christmas and I will probably be away when I o.  I was only on 50 mg.  I definately o'ed but still didn't get preg.  Like Helen said maybe your doctor can increase your dosage.  Did they do blood work on you to make sure you didn't o?  Do you take your temps?  The second month I took it i o'ed late I think like day 18  but my o'ing was controlled with ovidrel.  Injectibles are another option.  Most the people I've talked to that take them seem to think they are more helpful then clomid...good luck!

If you didn't O on Clomid perhaps you need a higher dose?  Were you taking 50mg?  Your doc may change that to 75 or 100.  You can also try injectables but those will be more expensive.
Also, I typically O on cd 13-14 but with clomid not till cd16.  So, not all is lost.
Good luck!
