I did femara, follistim, novarel(trigger shot) estrace for lining, progesterone(to support pregnancy) with timed intercourse. Worked first cycle for me. I didnt even feel like I was pg. at all so I was quite surprised when the test was positive. Only symptoms I had were really tired(chalked that up to all the stress I had been under) and a little cramping here and there.(thought I was going to start AF) So dont count yourself out yet. I had 2 m,cs before I had my two sons and the only thing they found was low progesterone. We tried with this one for a little over a year. Good luck to you.
Thank you for your response, I am new to the site and still learning!
I am 29 and df is 32.
We have been trying for almost 2 years now. His sperm analysis was normal. I have been off bc for 7 years and have an average cycle length of 28-29 days. I had a hsg test done and that was clear and good. I was on clomid for 3 months and had u/s that showed good size follicles and had a progesterone test done along with opk tests for months that all pointed to me ovulating.
I am now going to an re who had me start femara with ovidril cd 3-5. I got the 250mg shot on cd 15 with 2 mature follicles and thick lining. RE was happy with the u/s. We did not have ivf or iui- all natural, besides the drugs.
I was looking for anyone how has had success and/or is in the same boat.
hi-
femara is used to stimulate your ovaries in producing follicles/eggs and ovidrel is used to help follicles mature and trigger the release of mature eggs from your ovaries. first, i am not clear if you are doing ivf, iui or doing natural... if you specify which of these three you are doing maybe other people can weigh in on this.
second, there is no reason why both drugs should not work... but you didn't give enough info about yourself. if you are older... any assisted reproductive technology drugs/medications may be a challenge in terms of working and this is manipulated by the dose and timing of the drug and how your hormone levels are.
try to provide more info... hormone levels, type of art procedure, age, how long have you been ttc, how many eggs/follicles were seen during u/s if you ever did one... etc.
cramping may mean you are having your period or the embryo is implanting. hope this helps. good luck and wishing you a bfp when you do your blood test. :)
