Ovulating & Clomid

Ovulating & Clomid

I have a question for all you girls who have taken Clomid. I started taking clomid this month. Day 1 of my cycle started Oct. 26 & I took clomid from day Day 5-9. I have been taking my temp every morning at 8:30 am. My period ended on Nov. 1st(day 7). Day 8 of my cycle I started using the ovulation tests. Today my temp. spiked high & my ovulation test showed two lines. The one line it just a little fainter then the darker line. I have read that most women who take this ovulate late. And I have only been off my period since Nov. 1st & today is Nov. 5 & the test & my temp. are showing that I am about to ovulate. Could this be right???

oct 26 to now means you are cd11. which is not that odd to be get a second line on an opk. how long is your cycle? read the opk insert. does it say clomiphene will affect the result? i would bd and take opk when you have waited 4 hours to pee.

this cycle and last cycle (both times on clomid) I had a follicle ready to ovulate on Day 10 of my cycle (seen on an u/s) so, no, day 11 wouldn't be too early for you to have an LH surge.  Just as a note though..your temp. should spike after you ovulate.  How much did it go up?  It needs to stay high for 3 days to confirm ovulation.

In regard to the ovulation predictor kit..was the test line or control line darker?  The test line is what needs to be the same color or darker than the control for an LH surge to be detected.

I think it's a good idea to BD and continue to take your temps. and do the OPKs until you confirm ovulation.

Good luck!!!!

Sorry I don't have an answer about temps (never did it) but is a monitored cycle possible for you? It's a pain but at least it's easy--blood tests and ultrasounds. My first IUI/Clomid didn't work out with unmonitored. Stupid tests never worked out for me (sometimes lines, sometimes no, sometimes yes and then yes a few weeks later). Second was a monitored IUI/Clomid + trigger. I swear the monitoring and trigger is what worked for me. My son is going on 10 months. I never, ever, ever, EVER thought it would happen. I wish you all the luck in the world.

I did research on this recently for myself and found out you can get a "false" positive on an OPK if you start using them too close to the time you stop taking the clomid.. For women who take it during cycle days 5-9 you aren't supposed to test until starting with day 12.  So you make had started testing to early.  Check out this website, it explains it.  Scroll to the bottom where is talks about clomid and opk's.
