Ovulation Question

I should have asked the nurse b/c once again, I am confused! My US yesterday showed that I had 3 follicles, 25, 22 and 2@20. The nurse said by the looks of the 25 and my lining that I was going to ovulate at any time, she also said to go ahead and take my trigger shot last night. Here's my question, what happens if I ovulated before the 24-36 hour trigger shot kicks in? When you ovulate naturally only the most mature follicle realeases right? Do the other ones realease when the shot kicks in?? Confused.

Yeah, I think you're right...taking the trigger shot, regardless of whether or not you've already had your natural LH surge, will help the smaller once release too!

By the way, 4 good-sized follies is great! Best of luck this month!!!

My doc usually timed the HCG to be "greedy" and catch the most follies. So that he might not be aiming for the 25mm but the other 3 closer in size/timing. Or he might be aiming for 25 and 22 and letting the 20's be a wild-card since the sperm will outlive the egg. Hope that helps. Sounds like you have a good shot though :) Good luck.

There's no guarantee that all of them will release...but yeah, I think that's the idea!
